@sabbath7991: 'Nother newb question - after I been staring at your yaml files for an hour now trying to figure out how to make the XM7 register as a precision/sniper rifle instead of an AR. Just can't figure how. Which value governs that part of the weapon mechanics? Would love to make it a semi-auto, with less sway, to use as a DMR of sorts and that would be a lot more fun if it did trigger all the neat Focus benefits, therefore I want it to be a PR/SR.
Will that make it register as precision rifle instead of AR or does this just affect ROF? Idea is to turn it into a DMR that reaps benefits from Focus and the other COOL perks, just like other SRs/PRs.
Noice. I will try this later and report back. But I believe/hope it should trigger the perks, as those are tied to specific weapon types. Got Focus Tree maxed out, should be immediately apparent, if it works I'll get some slo-mo and zero sway from my perks. I know it works on your pistols, that much I can confirm already^^!
Next noobish question: Where exactly would I add that? I'm guessing it should look like this, looking at the rest in your yaml file with notepad - but got no clue where to put it:
itemType: ItemType.Wea_PrecisionRifle
Edit: Nevermind, edited the archived mod file instead of the installed one in the game folder, then was wondering why it didn't work. Like me dad said: "Folks who can read got a clear advantage." ^^. Attached the line to the first bigger block, worked like a charm. Now on to ROF, damage, range and I'll be set. Apart from that it seems to work, Focus triggers as it should and it shows up alongside the other precision rifles in the shop inventory.
Edit 2: Well you were right, the recoil is completely outta whack with those values. And for some reason it will only accept one weapon mod. I'm guessing that is inherent with your guns and Unlock me the mods/slots, yours don't work quite the same as the vanilla weapons, right? It does show me 4 slots (scope, silencer, plus two weapon mods), but I can only fill the upper one. Before the edits I could fill both, which is odd. Gonna experiment a little over the weekend, see if I can reign it in, I guess.
In any case, thank you so much -again- for the helpful pointers, Mr Sabbath, very concise instructions & very educational for an absolute beginner. Always nice to get tips from a pro. Keep it up, and keep churning out them leadspitters!
Yaaah! Played around a little, this is doable. Up range & damage considerably, to get it on par with other sniper/precision rifles, and it becomes a one-shot-to-the-head killer in focus mode. That being said, a good kickback for a high-powered, long-ranged rifle is perfectly reasonable. I am real happy with this iron, almost feels like my favorite FO4 mod-gun already. Only things missing is a laser pointer & flashlight^^.
Edit: Been runnin' & gunnin' with my new DMR for a day now, and it is awesome! Thanks so much for helping out an ole Luddite, this has been and still is a blast (pun intended^^). One last question (hopefully): How would I go about changing the in-game name of an item? Was one of the first things I learned modding the Fallouts, but sadly there's no XEdit for CP2077^^.
Thank you so much for posting your DMR journey on here. I was able to follow it and now I too have an awesome precision rifle to play with... easily my favourite weapon in the game!
Noice! You are very welcome, n13320. Seems I'm not the only one who figured this would make an awesome DMR^^. It's become my go-to rifle for nearly all types of situations, alongside sabbath's John Wick Glock for a sidearm and the Baby Boomer bat for melee. May be just slightly OP with the specs I gave it, but it is SO - MUCH - FUN !
I also found a -slightly clumsy- workaround for the weapon mod issue. Mods that were installed before adding the weapon type stay on the rifle, so if you got a favorite combo just slap that on before changing it to precision/sniper rifle. If you changed weapon type already, you'd have to remove those weapon type lines from the yaml, re-load game, switch mods, save game, close and re-add the weapon type lines in the editor.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make this change like Iriemk did. Can either of you walk me through what i need to do to change the XM7 from an assault rifle to a precision rifle?
It will now be a precision rifle. But it's still based on the Copperhead, tbh it needs more changes, I'd personally download Modular Kyubi Revamp which has an option to turn it into a precision rifle mod, and use those files and change it to be like that, but it's more work.
I like it as an assault rifle because I have the perks, and use WeaponSmith to give it a semiauto trigger. The accuracy (or lack thereof) can be modified in the yaml but considering how high the damage already is and how versatile it is (I added extended mag twice in WeaponSmith, semi auto trigger, and the recoil + headshot boost barrel, along with Big Mag and Firecracker mods - huge magazine, great headshot damage, less recoil, plus the perks for 7 rounds on target), I leave it be. Plus I have the Kyubi mod, so no point in another precision rifle. I like switching between them mid fight, using both Sandavistan and Kereznikov, you can dispatch decent sized crowds easily, especially if you rolled in with contagion and overheat/cyberware malfunction first
If you wanna add blueprints for these, use console, do one at a time
Open the console by opening the CET overlay then pressing the console button, paste these in one at a time, it will say "recipe added". It then adds the guns as Legendary, and the addons as Common.Useful if you use WeaponSmith; you can build your own gun.
Personally I like the XM7 with a semi auto trigger. You can edit the .yaml files to up the damage, but I find it already OP, however my game is heavily modded and I already dial down my general damage to 50% as my ecosystem has generally made me OP. The HK416 pairs great with Big Mag and Pyro or Firecracker.
Love your work! Any chance we could get the "The Breakup" M4 (mw2019) with the M16 rail and the 458 Socom rounds or something similar to that stopping power?
hey, u had a article or a post about how to change the attachment's to legendary, but i cant seem to find it anymore can u remind me how to change the attachments to legendary i believe u said it was to do with notepad?

At the top it says

Simply change that to
