think I might be dumb but I'll ask anyway. I can't seem to find the information on where to find the skirt etc. on your page. I have installed the mod but can't find it in game anywhere. How do you acquire the clothing in game?
This mod does nothing on its own. It provides modders with the structure necessary to make their own physics enabled clothing. The idea is to make a growing library of those, so make sure to check this page for updates whenever you install JADE based clothing.
Wait hold on, HOLD MY WIG. I am an idiot, if I wanted to add this to a refitted long jacket for example, would this work? If yes what kind of guide do I need to roughly follow...? I always wanted my long jackets to move :'(.
It requires some specific modding knowledge mind you (think: adding your own models as clothing items to the game). I made two sets of physics shenanigans for jackets - long one and short one. Best place to start would be "FOR MODDERS" pages:
I've done my best to explain how it works, but sadly I'm not the best at explaining things, haha. Download the pack from the Optional Files and play with it for a bit. Basically with this you can add some bones to your model, and anything that is attached to said bones will use dangle physics.
You have to load JADE .rig and .animgraph pair by adding anim component to your entity. (There is an example entity (.ent) file, with everything set up, in that FOR MODDERS pack). Then you have to export your clothing item over the mesh that has all the JADE bones in it (which is also provided), and rig your jacket to these bones (weight paint in 3d software such as Blender).
Oh!! I see, so it was that piece that I was missing, the core! I will certainly give it a try and hopefully succeed... Thank you so much for your time to put this reply together I really appreciate it <3
Really good work on this, you have mastered the cloth psychics! I think you have been working a long time to add physics like this If I remember right? Amazing stuff and It's nice to see something new from you!
Thank you <3 I have been tinkering with it ever since I made the Judy's overalls mod in March 2021, haha. This is also the reason I made Breast Jiggle Physics, because I knew how to edit stuff in the animgraphs, so I was like - why not make the classic. Also the reason why cat ears and some wedding dress elements have physics, and why that super old hair thingy mod exists.
For the final JADE (Summer 2023) I needed a lot of mental preparations and proper modding tools. (I ended up making it even without proper tools, which was pure insanity tbh). It was released in 2023 in a finished state I was happy with. It was easily the most ambitious thing I have ever done in my life so far, if we include all the research and things. I didn't even know if it's going to work decently until it was like 90% complete, so I "blindly" invested hundreds of hours into it. Almost gave up multiple times.
Core JADE has not been changed since September 2023, but I'm still adding new things to the dangle library. Like the variant of the JADE skirt that's cut from both sides - that's a new addition. So hopefully with more variants we will see more mods actually using JADE this year.
Yes. Technically speaking it's a library of all animgraph files (and skeletons) I made for this project so far. Modders and users can potentially use this library for physics enabled stuff.
