I'm testing this mod with Pariah because it is a very interesting idea.
My first understanding was that any level of street cred lost in Pariah would have been recovered using a confession booth, but when i tried using one (I might have lost a few street cred by running over civilians...) my street cred went from 55 (i'm using street cap 200 mod) to 1, and i paid some eddies too for that :D
My first thought was some weird interaction with the street cred value higher than 50, but reading the comments below i realised i might have misunderstood how Atone is supposed to works.
So this is what I understand now. I use a booth, pay and reset my street cred to 1 - this will reset the Pariah penalties i might have accumulated (aggressive cops, scared civilians etc) but the price, besides a few eddies, is that i have to rebuild my reputation from scratch.

This is correct, yeah. A couple things worth clarifying: - The levels you lose are still "banked" by Atone. (If I or another mod author decide to write a mod that lets you spend them on something. I hope to get around to this when some inspiration strikes and I am not buried in other mod projects.) You can check your levels reset with the CET command. - Like the Pariah mod description states: it *won't* reset the penalty for civilians if you've executed them. (In other words, killed them while they're downed/helpless.) This is the one thing you can't get a second chance on, because it's particularly vicious.
Regarding your comment of spending Street Cred as currency, I'm curious if you would be willing to hear me out on a certain concept of that. I don't mod, so take my suggestion with a grain of salt as I don't know how to script them at all, but maybe a mod that consumes Street Cred to generate a discount for certain large purchases, i.e, apartments, vehicles, legendary/iconic cyberware and/or weapons. This is not something that unrealistic either, as collector's often use their reputation as factor in the purchase, as advertising "hey, this guy purchased my product" is a pretty good authenticator of it's value. This decrease in price would have to have some sort of limit, as giving away an apartment for free would likely never happen, no matter what, nor would you be able to get it down to ten eddies, so I would suggest that 25-50% of the original price would probably be a good limit of the function.
I'm curious what you think, so I'd appreciate your thoughts on this as a concept, if nothing else, as I think your mods are some of the most fun functionality-wise.
@BuggyBlueJay I like your idea, but I don't think it has a large enough gameplay impact for the amount of time/effort it would take to create. I think that if the game was charging V rent monthly, it'd be worth doing.
I'm actually so unsure if the mod is working or not since I can't find or even have a single location to know if it would be working. Could anyone provide a single spot for one of these machines?
HuySalamander you can try downloading Codeware (which can fix mod stability problems), or make a new comment (not a reply) and tell me what's in your error logs.
Great idea with the street cred. I wish it was more in dynamic state in the base game. Like, if you finish off downed enemies it would be lowering your SC. or during dialogue choices that could lower it as well.
Hate how the game incentivizes you with more xp if you become a psychopath that kills downed enemies. No logical reason why killing someone defenceless should yield as much xp again as fighting properly.
Would be happy with a mod that removes the double xp, but to have being a psycho killer (either of defenceless enemies or NPCs) affect your street reputation negatively is a good suggestion. Would have to put a cooling time on any such mechanic though so players using automatic weapons wouldn't accidentally be penalized (if that's even possible with how this mechanic works).
It's funny you guys are talking about killing downed enemies, because I've been working on something related to that, specifically. I might look into that exp bug and I love the idea that killing civilians should lower your SC.
This is quite an interesting idea but it forces the idea of a V believing in God, which might not fit with everyone's roleplay or story. There could be an alternative solution, like doing community work or generous donations to something useful to the poorest.

If I lose street cred levels via the PARIAH mod (let's assume I kill a bunch and my SC goes back down to level 1).
If I initially had a SC of 15, and I used the confession booth. Paid the homie, would my SC go back up to 15?
