Is there a way to change the Rate of Fire (rof) in the mod files? I opened the file in the tweaks folder and altered the rof value that was initially -0.02. but nothing seemed to change (i was using onenote and it seemed to properly save). I was just hoping to make it a bit faster for follow up shots.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. I'm not super familiar with editing mod files.
I've never used OneNote, so can't vouch for it's veracity. It may well be the problem. I use and strongly recommend Notepad++. It's safe ( - as long as you get it from their website) and works on a wide variety of text files and 'disguised' text files across the board. It soon becomes a modder's best friend.
(I know you got further down the line here - but for anyone else's benefit in future.)
(I'm using the "Colt 1911 - Old" version download)
Find your Cyberpunk main folder in gog/steam/whatever. The file you want is: "1911.yaml " .
The "value" stat above is the one to modify (line 105). If you look elsewhere in the file you'll see that the mod is using the Unity pistol as it''s base, so the ROF and the other modifiers are based on the default values of the Unity pistol. I.E. If you were to change the mag size: it has value of "-4" in the mod, so that is taking the default Unity's mag size of 12 and then subtracting 4 ( resulting in an 8 round magazine). Get it - ?
With the ROF value :
Positive value = slower Minus value = faster
So in above example, changing it to "13" (instead of "-0.13") will slow the ROF. Changing it to "-0.20" or "-0.25", etc will increase the ROF.
It has got limits: if you set too high, game crashes at loading - but it's NOT FATAL: the game logic just doesn't understand the value outside it's established limits. So revert to original or clean it up to smaller value...and start again. It's trial and error all the way.
Somewhere around -0.18 to -0.26 should do the trick for you.
@Valmont1138 Reading your post back - it sounds like you are using the "M1911 OLD" download - which uses the NEU pistol as a base. Same idea as my original post, except in:
Extract the archive and r6 folders directly into the same directory as the launcher, yeah? It's not working for me either; if it helps I don't have the non-standalone version
Edit: Steam installation, using the Old skin, not using the higher-powered version. Did a fresh reinstall of the game, verified files successfully, and installed the mod by using Vortex; it's currently the only mod I have installed (before I had CET and a few others). Went to the vendor, didn't see it. Left, waited 24 hours, waited another 9 hours, came back to the Pacifica vendor, didn't see it
Anyway to edit the description? I wanna make it fit in more with the descriptions of the in game weapons as the one used just feels like it was lazily copy and pasted from a wiki page...
but why use the unity again? the recoil animations make it look .22 :\ barrel isnt rising at all... this is how the recoil of a 45 1911 looks irl - notice how the barrel is pointing almost 45° in the sky: pic, clip, clip 2 comparison w/ 9mm
for anybody who ever shot a pistol the unity animations just wont do :\ its as if the sound was like a quiet "piff, piff" ^^ no feeling of power.
anyways - not your animations! you probably got your reasons for using the unity, im just a noob - again no need for me to use the gun :) just wanna provide feedback, since i really like the looks of your work every time but personally cant use it again! <3 endorsed just like the spas!
yea i got rid of the original icon for a cleaner hud - everything works 😭 its so pretty. thank you, i think the m1911 could be my favourite cyberpunk weapon rn

In Notepad++ look for lines 103 & 105.
[Looks like this]:
Items.1911stats_rof:
$type: gamedataConstantStatModifier_Record
value: -0.13
modifierType: Additive
statType: BaseStats.CycleTimeBase

Welcome to modding :)

Raise it negatively in gentle increments ( - Try values like "-0.07", "-0.12", "-0.15 and "-0.22", etc) to increase the Rate of Fire.

- definitely works if you are spawning it through console / CET. Sounds like vortex MIGHT be the problem - ??
Try the old-school way of dropping the 'archive' and 'r6' contents of the mod into your main cyberpunk folder.
I'm considering putting money on that working.
Have you considered creating the longslide version, the amt hardballer? It's the perfect replacement for the malorian imo
It is not much off, but if you shoot someone a bit far, you will miss the shots, especially headshots.

btw am i right that i could remove the hud icon by removing the respective lines in the tweak file? :P i removed all other hud gun icons aswell..
