About this mod

A vanilla-friendly overhaul to damage, fire rate and magazine sizes to address some imbalances and handling issues without overtuning existing values.

Changelogs
While Cyberpunk does an overall decent job of balancing its weapon types, the lack of distinctiveness between weapons in the same category and the changes made to recoil in 2.0 have left the arsenal feeling rather uninspired or straight up underpowered in parts.

This mod aims to fix that by tweaking per shot damage, fire rate and magazine sizes for a number of weapons to create more variety between the weapon categories and improve some underperforming outliers, while keeping overall DPS as close to vanilla values as possible.

See Articles tab for full list of changes

Overview of changes:

Pistols
Various tweaks to fire rate and mag sizes, with an emphasis of making them feel less clunky and smoother to use. Significantly increased firerates for the automatic variants (i.e. Lexington/ Slaught-O-Matic / Grit) in exchange for lower damage per shot.

Revolvers
General damage tweaks to bring them more in line with each other, minor tweaks to some Iconics.

SMGs

Tweaks to magazine sizes, rate of fire and damage to further distinguish variants, with further balance changes to some Iconics (e.g. doubled rate of fire for Erebus while halving per shot damage).

Assault Rifles
Overall DPS Buff (~10%) to account for the recoil changes in 2.0. Focus on lower rate of fire but higher single shot damage than SMGs. Tweaks to Ajax / Masamune mag capacity and rate of fire.

Shotguns
Effective range increased by 50%. Slight buff to Carnage and Tactician damage, lowered Crusher/Pozhar mag size and increased per shot damage. General tweaks to projectile count (i.e damage spread and crit potential) between shotguns.

LMGs

Rebalanced to bring them in line with AR changes. Increased rate of fire on all variants, increased Defender per shot damage.

Precision Rifles
Normalized DPS of underperforming models (e.g. vanilla SOR-22 DPS was only about half of most other PRs).

Sniper Rifles
Slight tweaks across most variants. Increase to Grad magazine capacity (4 to 5), reduced Nekomata rate of fire, tweaks to Borzaya and Overwatch damage. Significant changes to Osprey damage.

Tech Weapons
Reduced charge shot time (-30%).

Smart Weapons

Slight buffs to DPS (5-10%) at the cost of damage potential per reload (i.e. lower Mag size). Increased bullet velocity by 50%. Skippy gains 25% armor pen, better targeting range and lock angles. Shingen burst fire increased from 3 to 4 rounds. Reduced elemental effect proc chances on Iconics (Poison/Burn/Shock) to account for higher rates of fire. (Does not affect proc chance of aoe poison clouds or yinglong emp blast, just the proc chance for accompanying status effects).

BARGHEST Weapons
Normalized changes across weapon variants. BARGHEST weapons have 25% increased Armor Pen and 25% extra rate of fire, while sporting decreased range, handling and magazine capacity, i.e. a lot of upfront damage but low sustain.

Optional:

Melee Weapons
Increased Hammer damage by 15%, increased Mantis Blade damage by 10% to make them more competitive within their respective weapon types.

NPC Weapons
Applies the changes from the Main file to all NPC enemies. Note that while their damage is still roughly the same, improvements like those to the ARs and LMGs will also apply to them.
