Love these boots for male characters especially! They would be awesome to put on Takemura instead of his usual boots since those clip so much in photos. Could I be a pest and ask if you have the ACM codes available? If not, no worries! Appreciate your work!
For anyone wondering, they actually work really well in ACM! Of course, it depends on the pants you switch them to. Also, remember to uncheck the boxes in the mesh chunks for their feet.
yep, they have the exact same behaviour as the regular johnny boots/other vanilla shoes
like i said to the last commenter—if you want to be able to *choose* whether they go over or under, instead of being stuck with whatever the pants want to do (very few pants in the vanilla game go over boots by default) you can use Equipment-Ex
I love these. They're gorgeous, but they are tucking the cuffs of every single pair of pants maleV has into the tops - including Johnny's official pants. When it does that, it pushes the lower leg of the pants into the leg mesh to create 'holes' where his skin shows through. It's small and unnoticeable unless you get in extremely close in photo Mode.
These are Johnny's official quest item pants with these boots. https://ibb.co/TrjfFbh
thanks! Yes, by default, pants tuck into these boots (the vanilla boots did this too!). this is expected behaviour; you may be used to older mods which do not include any garment support? these boots specifically don’t look great with pants tucked into them, but i wouldn’t recommend you do that in real life either 😅 but the garment support is important to allow them to be under pants, over socks, etc.
side note: there are actually some vanilla pants that go outside boots automatically, but not many. only baggier pants will do this in vanilla.
if you want to have your pants *not* tucked into them, use the EquipmentEx mod, and put your pants in either the middle- or outer-legs slots. you can see examples of how this looks in the preview images. (: now that garment support is becoming more common in new mods, equipmentEx is even more of a lifesaver than ever when it comes to layering and deciding how you want your outfits to look.
there should be exactly the same amount of clipping as the original boots -- in some cases actually less -- where are you seeing clipping? in what circumstances/with which clothes/etc? which version of aXL do you have installed? just saying "there is a lot of clipping" is unhelpful.
i can potentially look into making it compatible for modded bodies that use "high feet" but the fact that it's clipping with those is not indicative of a problem with my mod. as you can see from my pictures, it works perfectly fine with vanilla bodies and modded bodies that do not use forced high feet.

And it doesn't matter what clothes. No clothes or shorts. I'm using high feet.
Which... do you fancy making those too? lol
