If your graphics card only has 8gbs of Vram, stick to medium density. Night City will still be more than populated. I'm using a midline Nvidia card with modest settings and the difference between medium and high density with this mod was all the difference between my rig running cool and quiet, to my fans maxxing and my CPU and GPU being in the high 80's low 90's.
Thanks I just bought a 34 inch OLED 1440p monitor and I wanted to remove some mods so I can boost my performance a lot more but I was really hesitant on removing this one because its just such an amazing mod once I get a 5070 Ti or 5080 I wont even care what I put on
Please, how do I turn it down? Great mod, but I would like to tweak it slightly lower for pedestrians and car traffic. I have Alive NC and They Will Remember, so loooots of carnage and people just freaking out and driving over each other and cops shooting peds accidently and driving over peds and me always accidently shooting some gonk coz of bullet ricoche or some such then getting wanted status plus 500 gang members on my ass XD. Any help would be appreciated!
So how exactly and where I can change density? pinned comment is different mod and cannot change it there? some ini tweaks or what? EDIT: If I understood correctly its vanilla slider in graphic settings? EDIT2: no need for answer... my bad... its vanilla settings :D BTW medium works the best for me... thank you. already got all your mods.
I'm not being vague. This mod edits the existing vanilla presets, as I've stated in the description and pinned image. Change the density setting in the vanilla game menu!
Yeah, there's absolutely nothing pinned about in-game configuration... can't find it. -lotherius
Is the Nova City version of Disappearing NPC and Vehicle Fix mod not compatible with this mod anymore? The Conflict Begone tool says that they are incompatible. Attached is an image from the Conflict Begone box in CET. Any info would be appreciated!
Appreciate the quick response!! Sorry for being a little obtuse, but are you saying that the "Disappearing NPC and Vehicle Fix (NovaCityAddons) version" is actually the full Nova City - Addons mod but WITH the disappearing fixes baked in?
hello there, is there anything i can edit within the archive file to get to spawn a few buses every now and then? i dont want to replace ALL traffic with busses, i just want a few, would it be possible?
also, i'm not seeing the coach bus anywhere in the category version, is there one that includes the coach bus but that also doesn't swap all vehicles for it?
It works perfectly fine in the category version, it just doesn't spam them. Play the game and you'll see them eventually. (Check CET logs when you disable/enable the Nova Traffic mod in the GUI to confirm)
I've noticed that some NPCs are driving totally wrecked cars, and it's really breaking immersion for me. It's kind of annoying to see them cruising around in vehicles that look like they already burned out. Is there any way to deactivate this so NPCs only use normal, undamaged cars? I'd really appreciate any help or advice—thanks!
Why is nobody talking about the crowd disappearing when looking away and quickly back again? Its unrelated to this mod I know. Doesn't happen on High which is weird, only Low and Med
But it works fine on High. It just means I lag a little because I'm out of VRAM. But it works, NPCs don't disappear. Only Low and Medium suffer from NPC disappearing and pop in. Make it make sense
Excuse me, why does my game crash as soon as I install Nova City - Traffic (Buspocalypse)? I see that the required mods are marked as 'Recommended but not required' (I installed the night vision addon) Did I miss any required mods?
Yeah, I'm crashing with Buspocalypse, too. I think I need to update it.
Edit: We're back in action! There is also a CET version that's more efficient and swaps more vehicles. You can use them both together to get more swaps with parked vehicles. ;)
Was about to ask about this. Just been biting the bullet for months but now it's getting to me. But I've been playing on low density (as that alraady puts a s#*! ton of NPCs on the screen). I'll give high a shot (and watch my computer explode) if that's what it takes to keep people from disappearing after a 360 camera spin
EDIT: Damn...nvm, not worth it to go that high. Framerate drop is just bonkers, guess I'll stick to disappearing NPCs
Happening to me too. Low and Medium just make the crowd (and vehicles too, not as extreme though) disappear instantly when looking away. It's fine on High but there's way too much density for me with that setting.
The mod is working but why I'm not seeing the settings for this mod in the menu? other mods appear just fine in the menu if it was either the mods or the mods settings tab.
If you explained this clearly on the description page you might have about 1,000 less posts here asking this question. Because it's absolutely not obvious.
It doesn't matter where I explain it, people won't read or comprehend. If I go into detail, they won't bother reading large walls of text. It's a lose-lose. Have you seen my Nova City 2 description? I put days into that and still get questions related to the info contained therein. At this point, I will let people figure it out for themselves and stop wasting my time.
I do have another question and it might be stupid (sorry in that case) But if I switched and run Nova City 2 now - I guess it won't be technically possible to activate the optional Nova City 1 submod from here, or is it?! I like the "Kiroshi Opticals Crowd Scanner" mod and use it w/ "Crowd Scanner Expansion". You too? Any plans to support it with Nova City 2? I'll turn the submod from here off for now, I guess
Been using population for a while now. I have low med high in the game's default crowd settings. Only on high will the people stay there when I turn around. If on Medium or low then they all disappear and respawn when i turn around, like on a sidewalk
Three things are true: 1. You made amazing mods and THANK YOU for that. 2. People are bad at reading with understanding. 3. The description for this add-on is terrible, and it's really not obvious where the settings are.
Hi Cynaide, i love population density mod, but it tears down my experience, game crash a lot, only when using that, i had an i5 12400f with a 3060ti 32gb of ram and de game is installed on a m2 drive. Is this because of my graphic card? i'm using minimum population level but it is still still crashing. If i disable the mod game run smooth again (120-130 FPS using DLSS (optiscaler)) Could anyone Help me?

Traffic swaps have been moved to a new mod, Nova Traffic!
This mod is awesome!
You sure about that?
Edit: I've updated the description with an image. I don't know how much clearer I can be at this point. 😅

It's not related to this mod.
If you're using population addon, it's in the main games setting menu, not a mod menu.
So this mod "Nova City - Addons (Traffic and Population Density - Night Vision)" is an addon to this "Nova City (Custom Weather - Beta)" or?

Thx <3
It's just my file with the disappearing fixes (although it hasn't improved traffic for me).
