Update to 1.2 for NMM coming probably later this week. In the meantime you can install the mod manually by copying the .archive file to archive/pc/mod folder (create it if it doesn't exist).
It's probably the fact that they're really gory, more so than other ingame ads, and I guess some people just don't like seeing that kind of thing, at least the few people who downloaded it, and certainly the one person who requested it in the comments on my previous mod. If you want to see it, I don't have a screenshot of the original ad, but here's the texture, or you can just watch the JustAds tv channel in the game, it's bound to come up sooner or later. I think the reason you didn't see it on billboards is because it has a low spawn chance.
Being the one person who requested this, let me just say that I don't usually have a problem with depicted gore or violence in games in general. Granted, I won't be part of the target audience of horror movies or operations on tv and such anytime soon, but I basically do get along with most forms of 'everyday' gory stuff just fine. However, for some specific reason, I tend to feel uncomfortable when looking at humans ripping their skins off of their face, if only on an advert. Scientifically, I can't just quite put my finger on it, it's just the way it is. Thus, I'm really glad for this mod, so thanks again to the creator.
need to replace two ads depicting self-harm please: -one involving a gun and stock market -one involving a red background and a person want to jam something to his eye
Thanks, these ads always stuck out as try-hard shock-value that just ruined the atmosphere for me. Kind of takes away from the thrill of dismembering your enemies when there's billboard showing more gruesome mutilation for no reason.
I'm glad you have made this available for people. I generally have no problem with violence and gore, but for some reason I find the images for this particular advert really unsettling.
It's probably best to end up making/merging into one mod (something like "Censor Ads" or "Alternative Ad Options") and uploading new ad replacements there rather than releasing/naming separate mods for each one.
Basically, organize it like any of the clothing pack replacements that just update an extra download option when they release a new texture swap.
People interested in these sorts of mod and searching for one are actually less likely to find them under such specific naming schemes, yet that ambiguous naming is also more likely to attract people who aren't interested (and thus more likely to troll in the comments). Meanwhile, that audience interested in removing one triggering ad would also be the most likely interested in the other mods you might do to remove other triggering ads.
Is it possible to change the ad entirely? Some of the content of ads is just disturbing and tasteless, and if we could replace all of them with something, like, scenes from blade runner (just a suggestion, nexus doesn't allow this). Personally, I have no problem with ads, but we should make the option for ads for people who have issues with them.
I wonder if it would also be possible to change TV ads and stations into movies within the public domain. It's kinda weird seeing only news stations in the future.
Add. replacing videos: AFAIK no one has yet managed to do it. A replacement video would probably need to be the exact same resolution, length, and file size as the video it's replacing. The first two are easy to do, but since the videos are compressed, the last one is almost impossible.
Add. changing ads entirely: Very much possible, if time consuming. If you want to learn, ask around on one of the modding discords, links should be around here somewhere.
While messing around with CP2077 Tools I briefly looked into editing the game's video files, and while I'm not 100% sure about whether replacing the videos would actually work without a hitch I found a program that's compatible with the file format used for Cyberpunk's video archive files (.bk2) here on the site: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/48175
It allows you to extract video files from the game (after extracting them from the basegame_5_video archive file), convert them into more manageable formats like MP4 or AVI, then convert them back to the original format the developers used to compress the files (BK2). Could be worth looking into for someone with more experience modding the game (I was mostly just interested in mining the archive files). The 'Hate Your Meat' ad is in a sub folder titled 'body_implants'.
Rather than downloading RAD Video Tools from Nexus, I suggest you get them from the official website. As I said, the problem, at least with the modding tools we have now, is most likely matching the file size, which is very difficult, if not impossible, with compressed video.
Video compression crash course: BINK video uses inter-frame compression. That means that a full frame, called keyframe, which may also itself be compressed, is only stored every few frames, and any data between the keyframes are stored as delta information. That is, apart from keyframes, the video file only stores information about what changed between the last keyframe and the current regular frame. The more the image data changes, the more delta information has to be encoded (and the more keyframes are needed), and the less it changes, the less delta has to be encoded. Therefore if you have two videos of equal length and resolution with different content, they will almost never be the same size when compressed using inter-frame compression. Which is useless to us, because it seems that for use in Cyberpunk they need to be the exact same size, to the last byte, at least for now.

As for the trigger, self-harm and blood are triggers for many people, especially survivors of self harm.
No, we don't
-one involving a gun and stock market
-one involving a red background and a person want to jam something to his eye
If you have to tone it down, this game is not for you lmfao.
I should probably add a thing about gatekeeping.
