While the idea of Aeon voicing V is interesting, projects like this are just plain unethical. Denise Poirier put a lot of work into that character back in the '90s and using AI to deep fake that work into something else, particularly without her consent, is nothing more than theft of someone's likeness. It's the same thing Hollywood is trying to legalize right now so they can avoid paying for talent in the first place, in which case there would never be any new iconic voices, just rehashes of old ones, and that's a dystopia I'd rather not live in. Denise is still around, could contact her agency here to get official signoff or see if she'd like to participate in new voiceover work.
Shouldn't you bring a petition to CDPR? Cause and effect of awful decisions. A lot of narrative-driven RPG of the past kabillion years gave bare minimal two to three different voices with different actors for each gender. Look at DA: Inquisition for god sake, its not impossible. But for 7+3 years CDPR couldn't find the time to do it. We mod the crap out of this game because it is great, but honestly insufficient. Aim at the right cause and people, this mod is one of the best.
And AI VO is just copying the sound - not the mannerism or the acting. I shouldn't need to point that out its obvious. Can't change these details if the source is different.
Well I dont think its unethical to be honest. If I would hinder her chances to get a contract with CDPR voicing V I would instantly remove this mod. But CP2077 wont record a new voice over for V, not ever, so I dont feel I cause anyone any harm with this. Its just a nice what if Scenario. Its not that much different from putting in Henry Cavill as a model mod for Witcher 3.
I also never release the voice models I train because they can be used to cause harm, but in this case there is no harm done to anyone.
As someone who actually works in a bioethical committee, and given my experience dealing with ethical dilemmas around intellectual property, I must say... I don't see the ethical issue. The actress is never going to get paid for doing something like this; CDPR wouldn't allow you to hire someone to do this kind of job without their involvement. So... the only issue is your lack of knowledge about what constitutes an ethical dilemma.
Hey thanks! No need for a new game. Just add/remove the voice mods at any time. my voice mods don't have any scripting. All they do is replacing the voice sample files.
Edited: I had issues with the mod not starting the game, but it was corrupted download apparently. I re-downloaded it and it worked just right. Thanks for that, it matches with my corpo cyberninja just beautifully.
Glad it worked out for you! Im pretty close to being done with another voice make over but this time for Judy. Its a bit experimental and certainly needs some getting used but it also probably it the best voice model I trained so far with double the Epochs (training steps for AI models). Just need to test drive it for a bit but seems promising.
Youre welcome! I genuinely enjoy playing with this voice. It really fits in a lot of parts. It been so long since I last watched Aeon Flux I barely remember it, maybe while Im at it Ill give it a rewatch.
Oh you should especially S3 where it's voiced, the first two seasons are also cool nice to see what can be done with just visuals in storytelling but they're only about 10mins each lol Yeah the subtlety of the voice and the romantic cat and mouse with Trevor and Aeon is well done. The movie sucks tbh They could make Aeon Flux games based on the cartoon and it would be really cool. Thanks again, put it in there today.
