What does this do?
  • Swaps most weather states (all except for foggy and rainy) to a custom weather state with nice big, fluffy clouds... I left foggy/rainy because I still wanted some cycling weather and they are the only states that don't normally have visible clouds (aside from the extreme states like sandstorm)...
  • This new state also has some really nice volumetric fog
  • Also has wet roads (and other surfaces) all the time (alternate versions are available without this)
  • Rain state is customized to have straight-down rainfall and a few other tweaks to it's lighting
  • Foggy has fog reduced and has these clouds, though you can't really see them (same for rainy)
  • The addon ini tweaks ("Fluffier Clouds") cleans up the noise of the clouds a bit and reduces the cloud coverage  (this helps to stop the horizon clouds from having obvious tiling patterns... This isn't as noticeable even without the tweaks in v1.1+ of the mod, though)... It's not required at all and there is a comparison shot with and without it in the images... Feel free to tweak the values in the file to adjust the coverage... Note: An alternate version is available of this that increases cloud coverage a bit more compared to the older tweaks... Only install one of these addon ini tweak files at a time...

Alternate version available (under "optional" files) that only swaps the cloudy states and pollution/toxic rain... This is for those of you that still want more variety to the weather... Note: I only included pollution/toxic rain because if I didn't, it won't affect the area around the Petrochem plant near Megabuilding 7 (close to the main entrance of the Badlands)...

Installation:
  • Extract contents of downloaded zip file to main CP77 install folder (alternatively, use Vortex)

Uninstallation:
  • Delete the "!!!_Cloudy_NC-WeatherStateTweaks.archive" file from your [CP77>archive>pc>mod] folder
  • Delete the "Cloudy_NC-AddonIniTweaks-BigFluffyclouds.ini" file from your [CP77>engine>config>platform>pc] folder

Compatibility:
This is compatible with env lighting/weather mods, as well as with custom LUTs (examples: Nova LUT, GITS, E3VR, NCLM, WPR, Autumn Falls, etc)... Screenshots include my Customized Env Effects 3 mod, which is an env lighting/weather mod that also includes a non-vanilla LUT... Note that even though this is compatible with these mods, it does not mean that it will look great with all of them... This will override their weather states (some of which may be customized for the env mod)...

This is not compatible with mods that only edit weather state ".envparam" files, such as my own Hazy NC mod (which adds a bit of fog to most of the weather states)... You can technically mix the 2 mods and will sometimes see these clouds, though, as that mod does not touch the 3 "extreme" weather states and this one does... You would want to adjust load order so that mod takes priority over this, though...

Settings used in screenshots:

Mix of low/med/high/ultra settings at 1080p with no RT/PT or upscaling enabled... Volumetric fog is on low, volumetric clouds are on high... Most other settings are high/ultra, but medium Ambient Occlusion...

Note:

  • This affects most areas of the game (including Dogtown), but does not affect the Badlands... It does (mostly) transition nicely, though (even if extremely unrealistically)...
  • There are a few locations in the city itself (Arasaka waterfront area, for one) that this does not affect... I don't find these that distracting as they're mostly areas that I really only ever drive through, so don't see the clouds much anyway,, but if you do find them distracting/annoying, you may want to just force one of the weather states with the clouds all the time using Weathermancer by u/rmk1234... Some people may just like to do this anyway (I personally have been using it like this)... With the weather forced to one state, you even get these clouds in the Badlands...
