If not working, try to rename the archive. I renamed it to ###BurnTheTrash to be loaded before ###RT_Debris.
    The city smells better. Thanks.

      Good to know.
The guy on the metro would be pleased with the smell too.

Hi! Anyone knows how much this improves performance?

Do you have any plans to remove the trash in hotell rooms and similar places? Those are far more annoying then the trash out in the streets. At least you can justify that with an ongoing strike or something. But that people are willing to rent room where there is still trash, blood and used needles?

Thanks for your mod. I've been looking for a mod like yours for a long time (I've always thought that NC is garbage city).
You could do the same by eliminating the cardboard boxes that are scattered around the city.

A lot of the cardboard boxes are used as decoration on shelves, especially in storage rooms or storefronts. Removing them would make things look empty. The only one I don't remember seeing on shelves is the large open box, but a lot of times there are stuff in it, like bottles or the like. Removing only that would likely result in floating bottles and the like. So maybe as an optional mod if you really want it regardless of the issues I mentioned.

I like the mod; it seems to be working. But when I am running, I can see the trash bags disappearing. Is this a draw distance thing? Any suggestions for speeding up the disappearing?

I think it's a prefab thing. I've noticed it too, when staring out into a wide-open terrain filled with trash. I'm still experimenting with prefabs.

Noticed the same, I did a little experiment and even noticed the distance where stepping forward once would make them vanish, and taking a step back would make them appear. They seem to have some placeholder or super low level LOD texture to them too.

It's not rlly noticeable during normal gameplay, especially when driving but there are those weird moments where you'll notice it while jogging or running around. Thankfully it's not a dealbreaker, would be wonderful to have it eliminated though.

Maybe a submesh LOD. I'll have to experiment with that.

So it's some sort of caching which I cannot modify simply with meshes. I guess we'll just have to live with it. 🙃

I think you have images 6 and 7 flip flopped on the before/after labels :)

Going to download the update (thank you!) and go look around and see if the mod is loading. I may just need to move the ordering, something might be overriding it. Or the city is so grungy looking that it still feels dirty and it isn't as dirty as it was before lol

    will report back with updates!

Yeah :) thanks. Nexus is being weird when I try to label or change the order of images.

Try the archive version if RedMod is being weird.

And yes, the city will still feel dirty. But you should at least not see any more trash bags.

Trying the archive version. The Redmod version definitely isn't working. I have it loading last in my load order to override anything, though I don't have any mods that mess with rubbish afaik. I have texture upscales, but those shouldn't be doing anything to the meshes. Will give it a shot and report back!

RedMod mods are overridden by Archive mods. So if you have another archive mod that touches the objects I nullified (like RT_Debris), it's why it's not working for you.
As for texture upscales.. try changing the load order (I've added how-to in this mod's description) or disabling those other mods first and see what happens.

Interested in removing more, like discarded tires? I remember there was a mod that removed old newspapers from the streets. However, it is not very compatible with path tracing.

But it may not be easy. There are areas in the world that require tires for decoration.

Yeah. I think I'll make some modular files so people can choose what they want to hide: garbage bags and ground street trash (the current version), food trash packaging, others...
