Verily, I say in the realm of Cyberpunk, where neon hues dance amidst the cybernetic cityscape. I once deemed the E3 2018 lighting mod to reign preemest among visual mods. But now a laudable nod to the NOVA LUT+ENV version, which, when paired with a subtle enhancement of monitor contrast, vibrance, and perhaps a modest brightness tweak, unveils a visual tapestry more vibrant and rich than any other mod in the land of Nexus.
For those who find the landscape colors appearing somewhat flat, fear not, for the remedy lies in the fine-tuning of thy monitor's contrast and vibrance settings. An additional flourish may be achieved through adjustments within thy GPU software.
May this tip illuminate the cityscape of Cyberpunk, rendering its pixels with newfound brilliance and splendor for all who embark on digital adventures in the neon-lit metropolis.
For those who are having issues with HDR PLEASE make sure to figure out what your displays capabilities are and then adjust them accordingly. For those on windows 11 the "HDR calibration app" on the Microsoft store is a good one to use and here's a little video regarding it. https://youtu.be/9h1YeYzV9Jc?si=hGvok8YwI3r7W74X
Something to keep in mind, if you have a cheaper display or a display that can't get very bright, it's a good idea to keep expectations in check as HDR itself needs a capable display. Lots of cheap tvs and even monitors can ACCEPT an HDR signal, tone map it, then cranks the brightness up to the max. But that can come with its own issues and is just a reality of cheaper tvs or even monitors which haven't been the best for HDR.
Also if you can do so and have a display capable, use HGIG BEFORE setting up your HDR. Then go in game and don't put the mid point above 1 and then set the brightness according to your display.
Hi! Yesterday I spent several hours testing mods, as I told you, and learning a little. This was my experience: First, I tried Nova City 2 (downloading each and every dependency) and the mod itself worked, but my game looked really bad—too much brightness and saturation. I tried leaving only the required dependencies and realized it was the mod itself. Is this normal? Or do I need to configure something to make it look good?
After this, I deactivated them and downloaded Blur Begone, Preem Scanner, Preem Water 2, Preem Scopes, and Dirt Begone, all working perfectly. I also tried Nova Traffic and it worked, but I changed it for another mod. One question I can't find a solution for anywhere: how do I prioritize one mod over another in Vortex? Since for Cyberpunk I have read that it cannot be put since it is done like that and the same program detects it, priority can only be given when there is more than one mod that interferes and then choose priority between both, that is what I have read but I have not seen any solution, I have as I told you the ETO + HD Reworked too but working in the order that Vortex has put it for me (HD first I think since it appears higher than ETO)
I'm new and barely know anything about mods. Could someone confirm if this mod could be combined with the HD Reworked Project? And if this would make it look better? And with any reshade, or HD Reworked + Reshade? I've seen another mod by the author, Nova City, but it says it's incompatible with any vignetting mod (it's the only mod I have installed). I've seen that the reshades themselves have an option to remove the vignetting without a mod (I don't know if it's true), but could someone advise me? My plan is, if possible, to combine HD Reworked with Nova LUT, to add Nova City, for example, and try out the reshades to keep the one I like the most and have them all. I don't plan on installing any other mods, perhaps Dark Future - Urban Survival. Thanks in advance.
Because you're new, I will let it slide that you didn't read all the file and mod page descriptions and suggest that you start there to answer any questions in the future.
LUT mods work with any other mods except LUT mods. Weather/lighting/ENV mods do not work with any other weather/lighting/ENV mod. I have stated this in the description of both Nova City 2 and Nova LUT.
My suggestion is getting LUT Switcher (Core and a few optional packs) to have the option to switch between different looks in game. I also suggest using ETO instead of HD Reworked (or use both, giving ETO priority).
Thanks for your reply. I wasn't familiar with the ETO mod. From what I understand, I could combine the Nova Lut mod + Switcher + Nova City (deleting the only mod I have that removes vignetting, since I didn't know Nova City removed it) + HD Reworked + ETO? Would this be the maximum configuration? Or would there be any problem or in-game texture loading if I had ETO + HD Reworked at the same time? If I prioritize ETO, I imagine it would show its textures. But if some parts of the HD Reworked map "look" better than ETO, would the HD Reworked ones show up? That is, they would merge depending on which area of the map looks better? I don't know if I explained myself correctly. And for the reshades, could you tell me why to avoid them?
You can use both textures mods but I prefer ETO. If HDRP has assets that ETO doesn't cover, they will be used (best of both worlds).
ReShades hit performance unnecessarily and the same look can be achieved with LUTs and weather mods. I don't use them myself but, if you're using ReShade for a simple contrast curve or depth of field for photos, that's fine.
Thanks, so I understand it works as I mentioned. As for reshades (from what I've seen in videos and such, people say it doesn't affect performance since it only changes the color scheme, so to speak), but I don't know any more. I don't know if reshades can be combined with these mods, or if these mods replace reshades or something. I'm at a loss.
I understood that reshades do that and that's why it doesn't affect performance. I've also seen people combining reshades with Nova Lut and things like that, so I don't know. Anyway, I'll try them little by little. I've been looking at all your mods and I've been quite impressed. I've noted down the ones I'll try little by little (I've read all the requirements and I think they're all compatible). These are all, apart from the aforementioned Nova Lut, HD Reworked, ETO, and Nova City 2 (Blur Begone, Preem Scanner, Preem Water 2.0, Dirt Begone, Nova Rain, Preem Skin, Relux, Preem Scopes, Glow Begone, Wind Begone).I don't think Nova Scanner is compatible with Preem Scanner, but I'll try them little by little, one by one. It will be complicated since it's my first time, but I hope it turns out well. Thanks for your time.
LUTs change the base color of the game (see the yellow image in the description for a better understanding) while ReShade is all post-processing of the baked in look and has more overhead. LUTs, no performance loss. ReShade, performance loss.
Nova Scanner is not compatible with Preem Scanner.
I understand... I don't know why they will say that it doesn't affect performance, I imagine that it will affect something but it depends on the components you have, it will be noticeable or not. I have been taking a look at the eto and it seems that it would be convenient to download specifically this surfaces mod, https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2723 (do you know if they are compatible with your mods?) since there are many, I suppose and I think so, but according to what I have read, priority should be given to all of them, then to ETO and then to the hd reworked in that case and I imagine that after these will go all the ones I mentioned before (the most important ones like nova lut or nova city I think would go before all of these) but in theory there is no problem
Thanks for the update Cyanide! After some testing, I think this is what I gathered from the HDR LUT Pack. Let me caveat this by saying I'm not an expert, I was just switching back and forth and comparing LUTs thanks to the LUT Switcher. When I refer to the Main Nova LUT 3.0 file below, I'm referring to the file I got from the NOVA Pack for LUT Switcher.
It seems that the Main Nova LUT 3.0 file for HDR changes exposure at different times of the day roughly as follows: 11AM in badlands is roughly 3.0 - 5600k 6PM in badlands is roughly between 2.5 and 2.0 - 5600k 12AM in badlands is roughly 2.0 - 5600k
So the Main Nova LUT 3.0 file changes exposure dynamically, while the HDR Pack has set exposures throughout the day. Is the HDR pack meant to replace the Main file? Or is the main file still relevant for HDR and meant to portray brighter daytime sun in California? In other words, is the dynamic exposure of the main NL3.0 file a bug or a feature?
I hope that question doesn't come across as rude; I'm genuinely asking because I'm new to LUTs and I saw in some other comments you mentioned something needed to be "fixed" in NL3 for HDR. Do you still recommend the main NL3.0 file for HDR users and are just giving more options for anyone who doesn't prefer the dynamic exposure changes?
The HDR LUT pack just contains various exposure offsets (and color temps). The main Nova LUT sits around the 2.5-3.0 range. I just provided various others as options because people complained that it was too bright. The exposure doesn’t change throughout the day. LUTs are locked in as they are and are global changes.
There may be minor differences in shadow exposure, which is why you think it is around 2.0 at night but otherwise identical.
IDK why but i have a feeling they will be updating the game soon. Please keep this mod up to date so we can keep playing in style with this dope mod man!!!!!!
The good thing about LUTs is that they will never need to be updated with different versions of the game (unless they decide to update the LUT for some reason). Even if they did change the base LUT with a new update, LUT Switcher should continue to work once CET has been updated.
Version 3 is stunning, colors pop while still being accurate. fits perfectly with NCLM/AWV, etc. With Nova City even at Midpoint 1.0, however, noon on sunny weather still feels overly bright for some reason. Either way, I still prefer the NCLM sunny vibes over the "moody" vibes in Nova City, but that's my preference :)

Thanks a bunch for all your work!

I've gathered 6500k is the color temperature but what does the 2.0 mean?
Thanks <3

Hopefully once I release Weather Manager, you can come back to Nova City 2 and customize your own loops with just the sunnier states. 😉
It works great with other ENVs
I guess Nova City causes the brightness issues for me more than the LUT itself.
Using NOVA LUT2 until then.
