THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I didn't sign up for a space horror/survival game, and playing through it once was enough. Between this and the Never Lock Saves mod I was able to skip all of the stress of hiding from the giant robot, which I do not want, and instead focus on the game and story that I want.
Here's how:
Install the Never Lock Saves mod. It will give you an autosave if you can't quick save. (It doesn't work 100% of the time, like the Firestarter mission, but it worked for me getting through Cynosure.)
When you reach the points where in the description OP says to save and remove the mod save the game, but wait! Don't quit yet. (This is the backup save, just in case. :tm:) Go to the place where you want to be (the airlock in the first part; the safe spot in the second part) and quicksave. You should get an autosave instead.
Now quit the game and remove the mod. Reload your save and do whatever you need to do (hit the button or wait). Then, save and quit and add the mod back in to proceed.
Im not gonna lie. I played that mission one time. After that i choose the massaker at the airport.... aint no way i get in Cynosure without heartattacks.
mfw i sacrifice a week worth of sleep and 2 years of my lifespan to return to cynosure myself, in order to scan this robot with some plugin to obtain node data, so i can make a mod to save others from the same tragic fate, and some ungrateful nonbeliever tryin' to skill issue my modding abilities
Dumbest part of the game tbh, seems like someone in CDPR got a hard on Alien Isolation Well, turns out reducing a godlike cyber warrior into a running mouse was a bad idea.
I could bear it in the first playthrough, but that part seriously makes me just choose Songbird route every time. Imagine you play God of War and Kratos had to go "stealth" route with the end boss
In fact, didn't you install mods in my other games that I didn't want? ⛏️Oblivion ⚔️, 🗣️Skyrim 🐲, ☢️Fallout 3💉, 🧟♀️New Veg💀, 🐕🦺Fallout 4🛸 and 🦾Cyberpunk🦿?
Thank you so much for your effort and time to look into this!! I tried this mission for the first time yesterday and loathed it-- I hate horror games/movies and do not ever consume that media intentionally, so having a non-horror game suddenly pretend to be Alien Isolation was a nightmare. Spent like 6 hours on the mission just constantly pausing and having to pace off the terror.
Considered this mod like halfway through things but decided with a friend's help to just. push through 'bravely' lol. But if I *ever* play PL again and choose this route, I'm absolutely using mods to avoid that thing. Thank you for what you do and for sharing your work!!!
