itd be cool if there was a mod that more or less removed the set time and time transitions that happen from missions so you could choose what time of day you want to do a mission and have it progress naturally. thats probably impossible tho because of game design

Why though? I'm just curious the logic here, I think a lot of things reset time and even weather in this game you can't really avoid it tbh. I have rolled up to judys van and got in during darkness and yeah makes sense to do this mission at night for sneaking focused play. I usually meet judy there though and not just go directly to that mission start after the braindance to give this better pacing and not just all at once.

I go directly with Judy, and when you do this, you always rescue Evelyn at night time. So to me, if played that way, the transition from night time to late afternoon is jarring.

Ok fair enough. I do kinda wish they would have done that mission with pacing in mind, say juds needs at least a few hours in between for rest/setup time instead of go there directly but I get the urgency of finding evey too. As I said I usually just meet her there for this pacing and at that point in game usually you have plenty of other stuff you can do. One of my fav missions btw, stealth focused, sidekick, etc similar to the save saul mission in some ways and the red queen one for river.

Uhm, I don't know if I agree with you on the pacing of this quest. To me, it makes sense for Judy and V to go immediately there, since Ev is in the hands of scavengers, and they don't know if she's still alive and for how long. I do think there are some pacing issues in later Judy quests and other (like the Claire racing quests), and I'm working on a mod to make V wait a bit longer before each quest triggers.

The quests I have the most beef with is Takemura's. Cause it's Takemura's quests that will eventually lead you to endgame. While you're questing with him you also have to do Judy's and Panam's quests, and he calls you so freaking fast over and over leading to that parade. If you leave him hanging it feels "video gamey". Like, the parade should have a date to occur and if you delay the quest indefinitly it breaks any sense of immersion.

Takemura calls you for the parade as soon as you find Hellman, same thing for Judy calling you for Evelyn's suicide (she calls you either after you finish transmission or after you find Hellman in my experience). Sadly there isn't a "time condition" that we can manipulate.

yeah I do agree in general as I said, they are in a hurry for evey but I just like to have a bit of spacing there myself. It's a writing issue though because who knows when and where is up to their spec so maybe the braindance needed to have a code or something like double encoded to see a worse version or something so juds needs to work on it etc could be anything to get some more space there and the time/place is totally plastic to the writing obviously. I guess I never noticed the actual time of day and such, eh probably other people bothered by that and you've made this avail to them, thanks

I like it! I've thought it was jarring as well, will use in my next playthrough and I LOVE the idea of the slower longer pacing mod you mentioned in the other comment.
