How did I not know about this before? This is sick as fuck. When Kingpin ( hopefuly) comes back and (hopefuly) makes cyberarm cycle compatible with this - we will be f*#@ing golden!
How does this work? I kinda need more specifics. Does it create a 3D model of cyberware that the player is equipped with or do I have to wait for a mesh to be created for that to happen?
It allows a mesh to be loaded for one slot of each cyberware category. So yes, it does nothing visual by itself and requires a mod to be made with a respective mesh in mind.
Fingers crossed for Sandevistan spine. UV is the only body type that carries an overlay like that.
This mod absolutely requires images showing what it does! Even if it does nothing itself, having visuals on some of the mods that do make use of this mod would be incredibly helpful!
Edit: Apparently there is currently only one mod that uses this, and it currently doesn't exist! To correct myself, this mod should include photos of it being used ONCE MODS THAT USE IT EXIST.
This mod is a framework that allows modders to create cyberware meshes that showup when specific cyberware is installed. The Netrunner Deep Dive Port made the cyberware mesh for the back of the head, that many neturnners NPCs have show up, on V when the Operative System was installed.
It's a shame this mod doesn't seem to be better known in the community.
I'm really surprised that so far there's just one mod out there that makes use of this. We absolutely need more of these, especially for the more invasive cyberwares like Sandevistans etc.
Hey, looked through your code to possibly fix a bug. The appearance does not change between FPP and TPP when in vehicle third person. It only changes to the correct appearance when toggled or equipped whilst in third or first person.
"ChangeItemAppearanceByName" isn't being called on vehicle perspective switch.
According to the Mod Author of the one mod that uses this framework, it could use some better documentation. Hard to make a mod when you don't know exactly what you're doing.
So i've done some testing with this. minor bugs i've run into, like some have stated "cyberware costs more" seems to only effect 5++ tiers and only "sometimes". For instance my cyberware build is 450, i swapped out my mono wire 5++ 8 cyberware cost for one of a lower tier was re-rolling lines. CW went from 450 to 442, Couldn't exactly figure out why swapped arms poof back up to 450. Both cost 8 in the tool tip.
Edit: The bug seems to be doubling stats, this one i've done more testing on. Equipping a 5++ gorilla fist with a base of 4 str went from 4 to 16 in checks(door opening and solo), this also seems to effect damage stats with the 20% physical damage making the fist fight quest much easier. What this bug is more likely doing is not increasing cost but doubling the item when equipped at 5++. Now personally i don't mind this, but it's not intended and could be seen as cheating if people care. I've also noticed this bug isn't always active, sometimes on first launch of the game gorilla arms only give +6 (normal) to strength checks at 5++ but if you die/reload a save after initially loading the game the first time the bug persists. I can't speak towards if the stats are doubled on mantis/mono but i've noticed the cost of those being 16 after equipped as i didn't really notice it.
Bugs aside i really like the idea of this mod, i really feel like it should've been base game and it kinda feels they wanted it to be that way. That being said Lore wize not sure if you could "undo" a net port if swapped for a sande. I really hope more mod authors incorporate this into future mods.
For some reason when i have the mod it makes my cyberware cost more than it actually does. Like ram upgrade kost 8 cyberware but it adds double the cost
