A heads up for people who uses ray tracing. 2 Comments mentioned that this cost ray trace performance, and also this works without the multilayer material requirement. Which could suggest one thing, and here it is.
This mod is according to the author based on scanned asset, and I confirmed that it did not receive proper normal baking thru Zbrush or sth. In fact I think the mod does not have normal maps, it barely has anything on the roughness maps, every detail shown in the screenshots is due to micro triangles waves in the mesh.
Even the flat top of the sandwich bread is coated with thousands of triangles each a slight different angle from another. Which could be horrible for ray tracing.
A possible reason it functioned without the material library requirement, is that the mod only runs on the color maps.
For weaker gpus a bit more vertex calls won't hurt that much. But for gpus that run games in ray tracing and path tracing, this could cause slight frame drops.
Also I'm not sure how the game handles LoDs for modded stuff, but what might happen is, the frame drop would be the same for a hot dog that is say lying on the ground in the trash 40 meters away from the player, as it is half-ways in your mouth.
I haven't paid attention to exactly how much of these fast foods can be seen around the streets. Maybe there's none. In which case this mod shouldn't be a issue unless you're right next to a fast food stand.
Food so well modeled it unfortunately attributed alongside a different mod in me losing my 60 fps on pathtracing settings dam, probably for the better because holy s#*! I want to eat all that food visible in the preview screenshots already
I highly doubt this is the cause. This mod just gives food a bit higher resolution without changing the mesh (I think). This does not affect lighting and RT.
ngl. As much as I like the idea. I had to uninstall this mod because all the amazing delicious looking food didn't gel with the grimy cyberpunk aesthetic imo 😅
*stomach complains* Damnit choom... made this mod too good... Sadly Materials and Textures Override is fickle and not updated. So will have to live without this for now. Sigh...
I am happy my man to inform you that despite Materials and Textures Override not being updated for a while the mod works with no flaws. Installed it and ran the game before noticing the update of the materials mod thanks to your comment lol
The Materials and Textures Override is constantly causing CTD in several areas of Japan town, just check the post section of MTO page, then you will understand that the MTO is buggy at this time
I ask because lots of bugs reported for that mod since it is now abandoned/dead.
update: I just tested in game, and sure enough I see the same exact food in-game as in the images posted here. So it is working without Materials and Textures Override? How is that happening?
Thank you I love it... The only complaint I have is that the pizza looks too good. pizza in night city is supposed to make little ceasers pizza look like a traditional napolotian pizza in comparison... it's also supposed to have bugs on it. yours looks like I should be paying $35 dollars for it at my local artisanal pizzeria

All we need now is the various Asian foods tackled.
