tl;dr: Update Photo Mode Unlocker if you use it, it caused this issue for me
So I've been testing this phenomenon by purging all my mods and noticed I actually do have shadows in photo mode without mods. After a lot of back and forth I've determined this issue was actually caused by the Photo Mode Unlocker mod, it has since been updated to resolve this issue. I don't know if this is the case for everyone, but it's worth a shot.
With the newest version of the game this, this mod makes it so there are shadows that are always casting on my characters face and it's there constantly and only shifts slightly when i move the character around. I take quite a few photos in photomode and this is a must have for it to look as good as possible, without this my hair doesn't cast shadows and it looks strange. Any idea what it could be? I greatly appreciate that this mod even exists, so if there's something to be done to fix the mod I would be super happy. :)
Same here; I am experiencing similar issues. However, I think this no-shadow issue seems to be related to modded hairstyles, as with vanilla hairstyles have them.
Does this still work for you? It worked flawlessly for me without any of the visual bugs the others mentioned. But recently it stopped working and I can't seem to find the reason as to why.
Some people have shadows for both Vs, some missing for one of them like in my case. So yes, this is a bug that was introduced to the game after 2.0 update and still not patched.
Thank you for comparison screenshots. I've seen this and it's the only downside of this tweak. I'll try to look further into it but no promises on the fix, if the devs themselves couldn't fix this in 3 patches that means a deep problem on their end of things. My mod is just trying to get around the problem but it's a half-solution. The RT pipeline itself looks broken somehow.
I sense foreshadowing of a lot of headaches trying to fix it lol. My suggestion would be to script it to trigger only in photomode if that's a possibility, that way you get around the issue in open world but still address it in photomode, so you don't have to solve to root issue, because i think ur probably right, it is probably a very difficult one to solve.
Also forgot to say in the original post, great mod and well done actually figuring out a fix at all to this.
Unfortunately any scripting and even Wolvenkit is kinda hard to me to get my head around (I've tried) so unless anyone is willing to adapt this mod to a script or even just a hotkey I guess this one deserves to exist anyway. Also depending on RT quality and whether PT is enabled or not that "double shadow" thing can be less prominent. It didn't bother me in any way unlike the complete absense in the photomode tbh.
I feel you on that, currently trying to squeeze in learning wolvenkit inbetween all my IRL s#*! and its hard man, very different from what im used to modding wise.
