If your game is crashing or black spots or smeared shadowswhen installing Ultra+ Control, or after removing Ultra+ Control, your UserSettings.json probably has inconsistencies. Please rename %LocalAppData%\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077\UserSettings.json
If you have low FPS, try disabling your overlay (Steam, GameBar, NVidia)
Using RT + PT? Disable PT in graphics and enable RR (if you have it). You will likely also need to increase your gamma gamma (and use a gold LUT like Vanilla Plus, PREEM, NOVA, or GITS)
To re-enable the GameBar, use this reg file. This will be included in the next release
Rectangles on left of screen. Go into dlsstweaks.ini and change ResolutionOffset from -1 to 0
If you get really low FPS (even without this mod) and have 12GB or less of vram, CP is out of vram (see point 3 about the CP 2.1x bug). Set textures to Medium and remove 4k texture mods. Ultra+ tries to improve this problem, but I haven't worked out how to workaround it completely (CDPR need to fix)
FSR3 for Cyberpunk is out for NVidia users. Use the Universal version for least hassle 😊
For AMD CPUs, if you haven't, please run AMD's Auto Detect driver tool. If you've installed chipset and CPU/GPU drivers, Auto Detect will usually find important missing drivers
Generally, exclude 1) gamename.exe, 2) the game folder, and 3) shader cache from Windows Defender (or other) real-time scanning
Also exclude games from Control Flow Guard (click Start > type Exploit Protection > Click Program Settings > click Add program to customize > click Add by program name > type Cyberpunk2077.exe > Scroll down to Control flow guard (CFG) > Click Override > Switch to Off)
Enable Resizable Bar more info here and intro video here
There is a bug in CP 2.1 vanilla with black appearing on trees. It's a CDPR bug caused by the world position offset not accounting for mesh deformations due to wind... I.e. the textures do not move with the mesh. There is a workaround mod by TheCyanideX here
Getting a CTD with extreme prejudice on v 4.3.1 from GitHub. In CET, I can click one preset, but if I then click anything else (or try another preset) it is insta-desktop. Game doesn't even wave goodbye. Nothing useful in crash logs either. If I'm doing it all wrong, let me know please! Save and reload between preset changes seems to work OK - no CTDs there.
I have some crashes sometimes when changing from PT to RT-PT, but only in game. If i am on the menu, i have no crashes. You can may be try to "ESC" your game and change the settings when you are on the menu page (you don't need to quit your game, just press the escape key)
I couldn't find instructions for the 4.3 install. Have two questoins.
1.) Since all files are now in a single folder, am I going to pick and choose? Such as, choose only one .ini file, then copy all of the .lua files into ...\cyber_engine_tweaks\mods\UltraPlus\ thus, the UltraPlus folder would have one .ini file (config_rtpt.ini for example) and all 8 .lua files. Am I understanding that properly?
2.) I don't need to have all the various folder files which are shown the install video, such as GPU and all that other stuff, correct?
PT20 and PT21 will mostly work without reloading a save, but PTNext I haven't found a way to force it to enable correctly without loading a save.
it doesn't build the ReGIR grid except at game load 🤔. in general it's a good idea to load a save once you're happy with all settings... we're pushing the engine in directions CDPR haven't expected 😊
The download only comes with CET, so do we leave the old mod files 'Ultra+' etc in place? or Does the CET folder literally contain those files in a different format? Have been trying various combos with no luck. Ever since i downloaded the new Nvidea experience app, its been stutttering to the point of unplayable. Incredible mod though!!
I rarely comment on here so first off, amazing mod - thank you for your dedication & hard work. <3
I am (somehow) able to run PT on a AMD 6800 XT (16GB VRAM, 32GB RAM, Intel i7 12th gen) with upscaling to 2160p/2K.
I noticed that setting: UseReblurForDirectRadiance, UseReblurForIndirectRadiance, and EnableFallbackLight to True seems to have largely solved the issue of noisy shadows (is this the boiling noise people mention?) and in general makes things look much smoother.
I don't know exactly what I'm doing (maybe I'm losing some of the Path-tracing effects by doing so?) but for me I think it looks really good & performs relatively smoothly.
I've been having this issue since RT/PT came out for CP2077. I had hoped this mod would fix it, but unfortunately it seems to still persist. Perhaps somebody here would know what the issue is, though, and might have some fix. With PT or RT enabled some transparent surfaces get very bright reflections. On things like plastic curtains you can see through one side as you'd expect, but the other is almost entirely obscured by this bright effect. You can still see through the bright reflections if you really look closely, but this is most noticeable in dark environments where these beacons of light ruin the ambiance. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
I have an AMD 5800x CPU, and a RTX 4090. I have updated my graphics drivers many times since RT/PT came out and the bug has been present throughout. (This image is with Ultra+ 4.0-rc2, but was also present with 3.5.3 and still with the 4.3 release.)
This mod worked wonders for me. I get 90 fps with PT 2.0 Low with DLSS Quality and 110-120 fps on RT+PT with DLSS quality. However, I do get micro stutters and FPS drops from 110 to 60, would even go as low as 40. Is there any way I can fix this?
I have already set the right VRAM amount. I have a Ryzen 5 7600 and an RTX 4070 Super.
I tried doing this and didn't notice it to be working, at least I think? Fast travels and holo dolls were not illuminating the environment. Is there a trick to getting JUST relight working? I want to use it with Nova City and Ultra Plus :)
This assumes we're using Nova. Some of us don't want to use an ENV, and using the GITSHDR archive affects the game's visuals to shift a bit from vanilla. Is there truly no way to use those archives without the env itself?
If you want faces to look less washed out/cartoonish, you'll need to set visual quality in Ultra Plus to Insane. Be prepared for a performance hit, and even then, faces won't look perfect - pathtracing just does that. Still, Insane quality looks way, way better than High, adding additional shadowing and depth to character lighting. Use PTNext as well.
or disable ray reconstruction (which forces NRD) ... the lack of detail in faces is a problem with ray reconstruction in general, but NRD doesn't have this problem 😊

Thanks for the help.
Remove old config.
Just put the bin folder inside cp77 folder
Open CET
Choose what you want
Reload Save
Done.

edit: you should be able to give it a lower priority than NOVA by renaming it to e.g. zzGITSHDR.archive
is also required for all those .xl files to work, yes?

it has to be something I'm doing because it's really bad now, reverted back to 4.0 and the picture is crystal clear with the same settings
