Making this resource has been a labor of love, but even at its most frustrating or monotonous points, it was made worth it because of the joy and excitement I got to witness from people as they contributed to the project.

Out of respect for the spirit of this project and that communal joy, I ask that you refrain from commenting and saying that you think any color on The Community Palette Project is useless, ugly, or otherwise undesirable.

Someone liked each color enough to attach a name to it - please respect that enough to be kind. I will block those that can't follow this request.

Of course, please let me know if something seems to be appearing incorrectly or is otherwise broken. While the resource has been tested to an extent, there are simply too many materials available for me to have reasonably and thoroughly tested each one. If you find a problem, I would like to try my best to fix the issue, but I will only be able to do so if it is brought to my attention.

For any AMM user who might be having trouble with this mod or any other texture mod... My advice, uninstall AMM. For some reason, at least in my case, AMM conflicts with any mod that adds more textures. Idk why tho.

This certainly shouldn't be the case - everyone I personally know who uses this mod (including myself) also uses AMM, and so far as I know it has not caused any sort of conflict. Certainly I would imagine that many, if not a vast majority, of the folks using AMM are also using a variety of other texture mods. This does not sound like a common or expected conflict.

What sort of trouble are you experiencing? Crashing, freezing, lag, visual issues, etc.?

Do you install mods (particularly this one and AMM) manually or do you use a mod manager?

Yeah I agree with you, probably there's something wrong on my end. The main and only issue I have is that my game crashes while trying to load a save. I always install my mods manually, even the famous mod for the Arasaka Cyberarms. I even have an excel to keep track of all my mods and their requirements, so Ik I didn't fucked up on that side. Who knows, but Idc, I barely use AMM anyway.

My comment is just to mention an extra option for anyone having issues :c

(Thanks for your mod btw <3)

Are you utilizing it and it has stopped working? As far as I am aware, the files contained in this mod should still work just the same in 2.1, but if you are experiencing a specific issue, please let me know what's happening.

Do you have reason to think that this issue is in some way caused by this mod? I cannot think of any way that this mod should be causing the issue that you are seeing - unless you have installed it and other mods that are dependent on it, the files in this mod aren't even used in the game. If the files in this mod were going to somehow cause a crash, I would expect to see it when you were loading a save in which you were using a dependent mod.

If your question is being asked here not because you suspect this mod is responsible, but because you do not know where to ask this question otherwise, I can only assure you that this comment section is, unfortunately, not the place to get serious help with such a broad problem. There are many, many issues that can lead to game crashes like what you are describing. Usually, the cause for such issues will be one (or several) mods that are out of date or conflicting with each other. I would advise you to remove any mods that you added when the problem started and see if the issue resolves. If the issue persists, you may wish to delete all mods, perform a clean installation of the game, and reinstall your mods one at a time, checking between each to see if the problem has returned - this will allow you to identify the problem mod(s).

Beyond the above advice, I am not particularly willing to troubleshoot generic mod troubles in this comment section. If you have specific reason to suspect that this specific mod is the cause of your troubles, then I will gladly work with you in this space. If you simply need broad assistance that does not have anything to do with this mod in particular, I would suggest trying the Cyberpunk 2077 Modding Discord server; they have a modding help channel where there may be folks available to answer your questions.

just one quick question! does this change the tone of skins? (for example more pale)

Nope, not at all! Almost doubly no, in fact.

This mod will not change anything unless you install another mod that makes use of it - it's a resource/dependency that can be used to support other mods, but it changes nothing in the game by itself.

Additionally, this mod/resource just contains extra .mltemplate files. These are used by the game when they are referenced in .mlsetup files - part of the multi-layered material system the game uses to apply materials to most garments, weapons, vehicles, and so forth. The game does not, under most circumstances, use the multi-layered material system for skin; only a very few NPCs with metal or plastic-looking "skin" use the multi-layered material system for their "skin". This mod's files aren't a file type that is used at all for any of the skintones available (by default) for V. In short, even if a mod creator wanted to use these materials to replace V's skin (in their own separate mod), they would need to jump through a few hoops to do so.

I am confused because there's no image comparison provided with materials being actually on game's items to see what this mod does. I would appreciate if you upload some.

Hey there! There are actually already images uploaded that show the palette colors in-game. The 6th-9th images provided for the mod show the colors in-game, using the cotton_shirt_clean_01_30 material in mid-day lighting. They are shown on a mesh I assembled specifically to display the palettes.

If you are looking for a before-and-after picture, like some sort of change that this mod would have on existing garments, then there has been a misunderstanding. This mod does nothing to change the materials on existing in-game garments/objects. It is simply a resource that mod creators can use to access new colors for their recolor mods and new garment mods. If a mod creator uses the resource on their mod, then users of said mod will need to download the resource as a dependency.

The Community Palette Project contains a collection of MLTemplate files - a MLTemplate is a type of file used in the Cyberpunk 2077 game files to store certain information about different types of materials, including different colors that the material is available in. This resource offers a way to use a whole new set of colors on a lot of materials that are in the game.

To make use of the MLTemplate files in the resource and the new colors they contain, you would need to make some changes, essentially to point to the right resource MLTemplate file and give the right color name, while editing a MLSetup file - a MLSetup is a type of file used in the Cyberpunk 2077 game files to store information about what materials are being applied to what parts of a mesh.

To boil it down further - this resource can be used by folks who are recoloring things for the game; it expands the list of colors available for them to use in their work. If a mod creator uses a color from The Community Palette Project in a mod, folks who wish to use that mod will also need to download and install The Community Palette Project, so that the color will show up right.
