hi, I'm using your perfect No Motion Blur mod when jumping and dodging. combined with Contextual Motion Blur. but unfortunately your mod increases the rotation blur almost to maximum, even though I only have it set to 20%. sorry but thank you
Working great! I did have to adjust the dash, jump and double jumb enter blurscale values from false 0.0 to true 0.5 to compensate the game for doubling the blur in these instances in the first place. This evens out the game, it looks great like this, as I like blur set to high and the vanilla mod completely removed it for jumps/dash.
I don't know... My Better Motion Blur Velocity Scaling mod helps with this, though (I'm not really sure of which file would be best suited yet, though... I need to mix/match and test some out...lol)...
Edit: Hmmm... Just thinking a bit... I believe I could disable all the time, then only enable for certain things and disable again afterwards... Kinda the opposite of how it works now...
The idea is to have no motion blur on foot, and increase it with speed, a bit when running, more when jumping/falling, much more in car, etc
Maybe it is not a good idea and wouldn't work right, it just "seems" logical to me ^^ I'll try your latest release and report back.
EDIT: I'm already using your better motion scaling mod, but I just noticed the older versions tuned for your env mods. I'll try those, as I'm using your Customized_Env_Effects_2-Reduced_GI mod too ;) Your mods are actually taking quite some space on my modlist ^^
That's pretty much what I'm hoping to eventually achieve with this... Already know how to do it, just gotta find all of the events and scale for each of them... Kinda backward from now, though... It'd be scaled down by default, then scale up for certain activities... Atm, this starts up and goes down for events (then back up after, unless another event is triggered)...
Make sure to uninstall any of the other files before testing, though... I didn't update them, just added it as another main version...
I did just kinda realize that it's constantly enabling motion blur while setting the values, though (meant to remove all those enable toggles, but forgot to)... It won't hurt anything and I'm still finding more events to scale to, so it'll work for now until the next update...lol
Oh, should definitely pair that with the mod linked in this new file's download description... It makes the blur even more extreme at high speeds while keeping it low at lower speeds (it actually scales with velocity, but it's camera velocity, so that kinda sucked... But mixed with this, the camera rotation blur is disabled for most things so it's really nice (basically only kicks in while driving, as there doesn't seem to be a way to separate the camera rotation blur from the blur we want while driving...lol)...
Just for info, the link in the downloads section goes to this mod here, Disable Motion Blur For Various Activities, not to Better Motion Blur Velocity Scaling.
Removed all previous blur mods, added this one and the better scaling one, everything is working fine and that is exactly what I wanted ;)
Thanks a lot for this!
I'll be testing it in a longer session along with an almost complete modlist (just waiting for "Wannabe Edgerunner" now ), I'll report back if I find any issue.
No problem... It's something I've been wanting to do for myself for almost a year now...lol... Just super happy to finally have (mostly, at least) gotten it :)
what is the difference between this mod and the in-game setting to turn off motion blur ? maybe the in-game setting only turn off certain motion blur but not all ?
The in-game setting turns off all motion blur... This disables only for certain things... And the "OnlyActiveWhileDriving" file disables it at all times except when driving, but does disable if you draw your weapon while driving so you can see better...
The in-game setting needs to be turned on for this to work, btw...
Well you already fullfilled my wish by removing double jump blur, but I wish you didn't added sprinting since playing with with a low frame rate, motion blur helps smooth out the frames. Transitioning from normal run to sprinting and seeing motion blur gone is really jarring. (we already have a mod that let's you adjust the blur while on foot).
So I hope you consider making a ''parkour version'' that only removes the blur from dash, double jump and vaulting. Because we really don't turn or spin the camera while using those, and it just gives fake UGLY acceleration effect. Others (ADS, sprinting) we can adjust using different mods... Thanks :)
I'll release another version without that... Thanks for the feedback... I kinda didn't consider the low framerate benefit...lol... I just like a bit of motion blur, mainly for driving, personally...
Downloaded them right away, man... I'm using a lot of mods from you, keep em' coming. Thanks for all your contributions! All these small things add up you know..
I don't think this is the right place to ask this, but you could make an ini file and play with this setting Rendering/BloomLuminanceClampFactor = 0.070000
I haven't tried it but i think this might be the setting to adjust, maybe you can try some settings and release a mod when you find enjoyable results.
edit: i suggest changing the number by small increments seeing that the default is 0.07. But feel free of course to go crazy and go straight to 1.0 or 0.01 or even 0.000001
That luminance clamp factor shouldn't do anything with the vanilla .env file, as it only clamps transparent luminance by default (which doesn't exist... Can't have fully transparent lights), but the colors it clamps can be adjusted in the main .env file...
I haven't tried it, though, so maybe I'm wrong...lol
Other values that may have some affect on bloom are these:
[Editor/VolumetricFog] Exponent = 2.000000 --Exponent (Nexus doesn't like code)
Volumetric fog is the main culprit of over-exposed bloom in this game, so adjusting that is probably the way to go... Can also adjust those LUT values and potentially reduce it, too (I think you'd mainly want to lower the max range)...
I haven't really messed with these values much to know how much they'll help (and I'm not sure if the volumetric fog default absorption rate does anything at all, for real... Doesn't seem to)...
No problem... It's mostly thanks to whoever is updating the s#*! out of the CET documentation and u/Psiberx for their help on Discord (technically unrelated to this, but lead me in the right direction for it)...
Is it possible to disable camera motion blur and keep the object motion blur? I like how it's making animations more fluid, but not how it makes the image blurry when panning the camera.
Sadly doesn't seem possible as far as I can tell... It's either all or nothing... Can enable/disable for different states, basically (and adjust scaling)... I'm about to release another file that disables it all the time except while driving (disables if you aim while driving, though, then re-enables if you stop aiming)...

A little request that hasn't been done yet : Would it be possible to have a "No motion blur while walking" ?
Edit: Hmmm... Just thinking a bit... I believe I could disable all the time, then only enable for certain things and disable again afterwards... Kinda the opposite of how it works now...

yeah... im looking for this.
