    Current (2.1) Status:
    - This issue has not been fixed with the 2.1 patch.
    - Players still cannot hack through walls (because the status effect is not applying to enemies correctly).
    - This mod still works without any update needed.

Ability is still broken in 2.2 but this mod still works.

Quickhack Fixes at Cyberpunk 2077 Nexus - Mods and community has it fixed.

asking for clarification are you saying this mod still works with 2.2 or do I have to go with quickhack fixes instead?

@ravv2099 - the commenter is stating that Quickhack Fixes has addressed this issue more directly (instead of the workaround described in this mod). Said more plainly: this mod is no longer needed (if you're using Quickhack Fixes).

if you really can't wait for an update , you could download Restore Legendary Ping and edit the code in the file mentioned by dammy63

      • Certain optics cyberware will reveal (highlight) enemies to the player based on proximity (up to 19.5m depending on your cyberware).
      • If the player is in the Overclock state, any highlighted enemies the player scans are simply marked as hackable through walls.

Unfortunately, the limitation here is that the player must use ocular cyberware that highlights targets based on proximity.

Same! I also have the correct optic hardware stating it can highlight through walls. I actually cant see them through walls without pinging as well. But once pinged I can see them through walls.

Is it possible to make it so Ping gives you the ability to hack through walls (like old legendary ping)?

It is - I thought there was already a mod to do that?
      Restore Legendary Ping

Not sure if it's updated for 2.0 patch. I can cook something up if it's not.

There is an old mod that doesn't work with 2.0, someone suggested a fix in the comments and that fix was then released as a separate mod and that also doesn't work.

Also there is a vanilla bug with Kiroshi eyes like Clairvoyant, Oracle.. etc. Basically their ability to see enemies for example when scanning and 60s after scanning, only does the 60s after scanning part, and works in reverse while scanning, as in even if you have enemies highlighted or pinged, as soon as you start scanning (to hack them) their highlight disappears.

Also also there's a bug with ping that makes its effects end prematurely, things stop being highlighted after 2 seconds. This could be related to the above bug but I don't know.

Even ping's default unmodded behavior to let you hack devices through walls is inaccessible because of these bugs.

That's the mod I'm talking about, the fix from the comments which I tried back then only removes the rescript errors, you still can't scan through walls.

The next day this mod was released, same issue, and I think it was the same code from the comment on the old mod.

The same problems with persist, kiroshi eyes can't see through walls when in scanning mode, ping only lasts for 1-2 seconds, and even if you escape those 2 bugs you still can't hack through walls. Read the comments under both mods.

I'll take a look when I next get a chance.

I had noticed the highlight disappearing thing - I'm pretty sure that's a fail-safe that was put in to prevent players from hacking through walls without the Overclock passive. Certain cyberdecks (the Militech ones, I think) give the player a modifier that also flags them as "able to scan through walls" for scanning devices and netrunners.

The idea was probably that only specially marked enemies should continue to show through walls while the player is "focused" on scanning and so they're the only ones that should be hackable. Something like that, anyway...

      TL;DR:
There's a fair bit of complexity in the ways pinging, revealing, scanning and hacking all interact together. I can't promise anything, but I'll take a look.
