Could you make a version without the asterisk? The asterisk sometimes doesn't get cleared after indoctrination, and really I'm not sure why it's there in the first place. Adding this change to the Thunderstore skew would be great too, pretty please
* Names that have been randomly generated will now have an asterix (*) next to them when indoctrinating a follower. You do not need to manually remove it.
Indeed. Since I play with Moonlight with a controller, a keyboard is not easily accessible for me. So it's a bit of a pain to remove the asterisk on each indocrination.
And I find it curious how dismissive the author was going straight to "learn to read" when they themselves are the ones that just did that. Overall a bit unhelpful, I think.
I'm still keeping the mod because it's still worth it, but the asterisks are definitely not worth it.
The asterisks are automatically removed after you have indoctrinated a follower if you have that functionality enabled - there should be no need to manually remove it during indoctrination.
The original purpose of the asterisks on the name UI during indoctrination was so users could be aware that the name is not a default game name. Functionality to disable this was introduced in 0.1.9 back in September 2024. The description of the file in the downloads section clearly states this functionality is available.
I have re-written the logic which should stop any edge cases. Please try 0.2.0. If the issue continues, please file a bug report, as per the sticky.
Gets a random list of 2000 names from the randommer.io API for use when naming followers.
but how do I verify that the names are actually sourced from Randommer and not just the default names from the game itself? I noticed that "Namify" appears in the console, indicating that it launched properly, but... I'm still unsure if the names are truly randomized or if it's just defaulting to the game's pre-existing list.
