About this mod

Retranslates most of the main scenario (along with emails and some side dialogue) to be more accurate and similar to the Japanese voiceovers.

It should not be stated but I digress: This is in no ways meant to be a replacement to the original localisation. If you like the original one, good! Just ignore this mod. It's a lot better than me being hurdled with hate messages. If you are interesting in seeing an alternate version of the localisation, I encourage you to try this mod out.

This has been a LONG time coming. Something I'd never thought I would get to.

This is my retranslation project of Crisis Core, about more than a year in the making. Mainly from just not putting my all into it at times, but it's finally here. This is a near complete overhaul of the main story's dialogue and text, along with some emails and side dialogue from miscellaneous NPCs, with some liberties taken.

This covers the entire game, from the prologue to the epilogue. Some notable changes include
SOLDIER: First Class, Second Class, etc. have been replaced by Class First, Class Second, etc. as that is how it's said in Japanese. I will NOT be making an alternate version with First Class/Second Class.
Angeal and Zack don't talk about SOLDIER honour, but rather SOLDIER pride. This is one of the major contrasting points between the English and Japanese voiceovers, and consequently, their translations. All (at least most of the) sayings of honour have been replaced by pride.
The use of British phrases and measurements in the dialogue. So instead of MPH, it's KPH, center is centre, etc.

And there's a lot more in the actual mod that I cannot list here. But I hope you are willing to check them all out!

Installation:

Download the rar file, then extract it with WinRAR or another rar extraction program. Once you have the pak file, drag and drop it into \steamapps\common\CCFF7R\CCFF7R\Content\Paks\~mods (or right click on Crisis Core in your Steam Library, hover over Manage and then click on Browse Local Files, then place the pak in the designated location) and if there is not a ~mods folder, create it.
It's best to use the UTOK-PAK Patcher just in case. Then start your game and HOPEFULLY everything works out good!

Known Issues:

At the beginning and last couple of cutscenes in Chapter 3, the original text will always appear (at least for me). I do not know why it's like this, even though I have made substantial changes to the text, but alas.

Planned Future:

Depending how uni goes, along side user reports, I will try my best to continually update REunion's REbirth. It may be minor, it may be major changes, who knows. Just know that I will try my best to support the mod and not just run off.

Addendum (19/4/2024): Hey all, I am very sorry about the lack of updates or anything. I didn't expect this update to take so long. I've been busy with classes at university and other things and haven't really had time to work on this fully. I have been doing somethings behind the scenes since late last year and hopefully for the summer I can make an update.
