I was tired of Conan yelling at me when the game starts. This makes everything a little quieter.

To Install

Unzip the file and drop the mp4's inside in your install path, I.E. "whatever\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Content\Movies".
It will ask if you'd like to replace files; Say yes, and choose something likerename old. Otherwise, you'll have to verify files to remove this in the future.

To Uninstall

Delete the following:

  • CinematicIntroV2.mp4
  • CinematicIntroV4_surround.mp4
Next, assuming you renamed the old files, rename them again to the original names.
I.E. CinematicIntroV2_original.mp4 becomes CinematicIntroV2.mp4

If you didn't rename your old files, delete the aforementioned files anyway. Then, have Steam verify the install. It will re-download the old, loud files for your masochistic auditory enjoyment.

Compatibility

This is not considered a mod by the game engine, so no conflicts should occur. Let me know if this is NOT the case and I'll look into it!


PROTIP FROM NAMECHOOSER

In Conan Exiles / Conan Sandbox / Config there is a file called DefaultGame.ini.
There is a section with the heading: /Script/MoviePlayer.MoviePlayerSettings

I edited the .ini file, now the movies don't start up anymore.
