Any chance for a 800x600 version for vanilla RA2 (not Yuri's Revenge since those cutscenes show up fine)? It seems very strange that for what is supposedly a "native" resolution you're still stuck with 640x480 with black bars.
Hey! It seems like it's actually possible to add subtitles via editing a text file, however at the moment they're only in chinese version. Using the transcripts available online I think it could be modded in, and is a lot easier than editing actual video files and repacking them back in game format. Will look into it and let you know if anything comes out of it.
For now, here's what it looks like for main cutscenes, and here's for in-game videos over radar. Though it seems that they're of fixed size and don't scale well at higher resolution (screenshot with this mod), so the best option would then be playing at smaller resolutions such as 1280x720.
Also worth mentioning that it does not add subtitles to the rest of in-game dialog, such as units speaking and mission control, only when cutscenes are playing. Unlike CNC1 remastered, the original RA2 features a lot of dialog – with taking control of your camera and giving context on the objective and game mechanics.
Hey, could you be so kind to make the Red Alert 2 cut scenes in 1080p with the German dubbed .mix? I could provide the "original" german movies01.mix and movies02.mix files...
Hi, any chance you can make the RA2 and YR cutscenes at 1280 x768 resolution? I'm not a fan of playing the game at 1080p because the units seem too small. Thanks.

I have hearing loss, and C&C jumped up in my personal entertainment once subtitles got added.
Just curious.
