I don't really understand why this is needed. The game itself support Playstation controllers. On Steam you just need to turn off steam input. Is it bugged from other launchers?
Not true. I'm playing from Steam on a Dualsense Edge controller and all I had to do was to turn off Steam Input. I also don't use DS4 since playstation now have released Playstation Accessory software, letting you do all the bindings. Just save your profiles and you don't even need to use a third party software anymore..
You literally just explained why the mod is needed. Steam Input has to be turned off. That’s exactly the problem this mod solves. Maybe you’re not aware of just how many things Steam Input interferes with. Just start by checking your own personal LED setting.
I don't understand much about these imput issues but I use DS4 and it was impossible to show the buttons, also the attacks that show the QTE and Counter buttons were distorted and out of focus so I also removed the Mitmaps from the textures and the error was solved.
What I've said is there's no need anything other than the game when using a dualsense controller. The game literally tells you to turn off Inputs in Steam settings the first time you launch it cause it supports Playstation inputs. No need Steam Input, No DS4Windows, No nothing else. At least with the Edge that is. My controller is running totally fine. I wouldn't know about the led tho as i keep mine off except for the orange one flashing when on low battery. I don't see the point of having lights on, eating the battery life while your eyes are on the monitor lol.
Anyways... It's why I was asking and Gantz gave the precise reasons why he made the mod. Could be the reason he was getting those glitches while using DS4. I'd also see a reason to use the mod when on a random PC gamepad and if you want the playstation inputs instead of Xbox ones.
I use an xbox controller but I prefer the Playstation prompts, because the a/b and x/y positions are backwards from the Nintendo positions, which I am much more used to, so it's super awkward for quicktime events. The Playstation layout is not confusing, because there's not a competing layout where someone has put the O on the bottom and the triangle on the left. So mods like this are very useful to me on any PC game I play with a controller.
The game supports PS4 controllers, but the icons display Xbox controller buttons, which sometimes confuses some people who are used to the Playstation ones.
The thing is, I used to play Persona game and I keep pressing Y to use skills and X to use items because of muscle memory. But this game has the commands swapped, so I decided to swap Y<>X in Steam. However,in-game icons are still the same, which messes with my brain when QTEs show up or during other actions in the game. I would really appreciate it if you could swap icons in the game.
Oh, it's perfect thank you so much! I just could not figure out how to get ps buttons to show up for my ps4 controller (I disabled steam input already but idk) but this so easy. Thanks a bunch
In the folder of the original game files PAK mods also usually work, but it is much better to create the ~mods folder without forgetting to write the tilde ~ to be able to manage exclusively all mods more easily.

Edit: Misleading description, you need to extract ALL files from the zip into Sandfall\Content\Paks folder
