    To anyone having issues with Sirene's LOD, insert this into a file named CustomSettings.ini at \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Expedition 33\Sandfall\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\UltraPlusExtensions\scripts\config

    [custom]
    [ViewDistanceQuality@0]
    r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=3
    [ViewDistanceQuality@1]
    r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=2
    [ViewDistanceQuality@2]
    r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=1
    r.ViewDistanceScale=1.5
    [ViewDistanceQuality@3]
    r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=1
    r.ViewDistanceScale=2.0

    After troubleshooting with some help from Lazorr, the issue was resolved. Thanks so much to him for the help!
    I assume Sirene lacks an LOD0 (for whatever reason? idk), so it ends up using her lowest LOD when the r.SkeletalMeshLODBias parameter is set to anything below 1.

    Has anyone else had an issue where entering any new area craters performance until you change any graphics settings to another setting and back again? I'm having this happen any time I enter a new area. I'm wondering if changing the graphics setting is causing an issue that's breaking the mod improvements thus the performance increase or if something isn't loading correctly when I enter and leave and area.

      I am running into this as well. I don't even have to change a setting to fix it, I have to open the game settings and hit apply and it fixes it. Seems like I drop from 180 fps or so down to 70-80, then going into settings and hitting apply gets back up to 180ish. Sometimes happens mid combat as well.

      UPDATE:

      After switching the DLAA Fix setting to game and then restarting the game, the issue seems to be resolved for me.

    Awesome mod, basically feels like 2 or 3 tiers higher than the ingame epic settings. Fixes most of the horrible ghosting too.
    Its a must have mod!

    Hi, I want to start by saying that your mod is fantastic, I pair it with a frame gen mod to get my frames back over 100 but I have a couple of issues. Noting that ultra mod has 4 placements of mods, and it seems quite smart in that it only shows the mod for the installation option.

    the two issues are:

    1) the 3rd instal option Expedition 33 vanilla-scalability, the mod cannot be located so I am wondering the mod name, I have looked but cannot find it.

    2) Expedition 33 Upscaled cut scenes has the warning "!" and unknown version listed. It is installed but something may be off.

    3) I also do not know how to manually install the file that accompanies the cutscene upscaled mod. Can you tell us on the install page how to do this.

    Much thanks and great work. The only thing I need to ask, since I installed the mods, the world map seems blurry, is this by design, is there a way to make it look sharp again, no blur, it's like motion blur is running at all times...

    I was a sceptic, especially with all the extra hoops and steps you need to go through to install this, downloading a third-party software and what have you. But I gave it a try.

    And I have to admit, once you have properly installed everything, followed the instructions to a T, configured your settings in the tool...

    It does work better than any engine.ini modification I've tried.
    A LOT better. Being able to control vital performance chokepoint settings and the addition of turning off things during combat has helped my performance to be much smoother in general, while enviroment pop-ins and the annoying flicker around the edges of hair are almost completely gone. Not to mention the overall image fidelity and quality feels much better.

    Then there's very convenient hotkeys for a lot of settings so you can change them ingame, on the fly.

    Yeah, I doubted this was gonna work and be better than some engine.ini tweaking.

    But it does, and it is.

      How do you use the hotkeys? I can't get them to work, I keep getting hotkey registration failure.

    I tried the mod but did not really like it. The illumination on Epic settings seems off to me, too many areas fully lighted when they should not, like under the trees in the camp for example, or the rocks on the left. This is present on ALL graphic presets WITH the mod. See ss below.

    This is also an issue without the mod but on Epic settings only, it looks better on high settings to me.

    Some parts look better, like the Gustav's arm and hair... but it is not worth it imo.
    Rtx5090 with amd 9950x3d.

    No mod, high settings, 4k, DLSS quality:

    With mod, epic settings, 4k, DLSS quality (also looks like this on high, med, low)

      Fair.

      But on a different note, I have a question for you.
      Which software are you using for that "FPS | GPU | CPU | LAT" Overlay? Tried to recreate it with RivaTuner but I can't change the Font size or make it bold.
      Would be cool if you could tell me how I can get an Overlay like yours.

      its the nvidia overlay, if your using an nvidia card just press alt+z when the game launches and you can enable it from there

      exactly, its "nvidia app". and you can also customize it and handpick which data it should show, it might even offer graphs but im not sure i might be talking out my ass

      Nice try, but that's not gonna get me to install Nvidia App.

      looks more realistic to me with the mod, moonlight bleeding through the environment. if it bothers you, change the ambient occlusion to GTAO or even SSAO

    Any tips on stutters due to vram usage?

    Overall the game runs well, but there are stutters occasionally due to vram usage based on profiling.

    Tried tinkering with some of the options marked as high vram, but even with lighting and shadows at medium in sitting at 8-9gb outdoors.

      Related: is there a possibility for us to get a “lower settings during cinematics” toggle, like there is for battle?

      I’ve gotten my game running smoothly, except it hitches a lot in cutscenes still when it’s struggling to load.

      Haven’t been able to get the cutscenes to stop hitching evening with low settings.

      ClairObscurFix stopped cutscenes stuttering for me; they now all run smoothly as the overworld. Just make sure to adjust the INI settings to disable intro skip.

      For those struggling with stutters due to VRAM, I recommend setting most things to “game” or their default value in UltraPlus launcher. Ambient occlusion can be set to GTAO for best performance.

      Then in the main game menu, set Shading, Foliage, Textures, Shadows, and Global Illumination to High. The rest can be Epic.

      That combination of settings has things looking beautiful on my 3080 without anymore frame drops

      shading doesn't seem to gives visual benefits unless in a distance (https://youtu.be/nF4pHlsbiD4?t=506) and it dipped your performance by 8% on vanilla epic, and given this mod medium is the vanilla high, I think its safe to reduce that to medium instead also can't notice any different on this mod epic.

      better reflection sdf and lighting quality also increase vram usage tremendously, leave it at game, I still recommend Epic Global Illumination though, it looks awesome and it seems the game intended visual, if you need more performance use GTAO instead of lumen.

      Shadow though, high is really the optimized settings but if you can bear the performance hit and vram usage, it fixes the pixelated volumetric effect, and volumetric effect are a big component in this game setting this to epic makes the game a lot better.

    So this mod is to push the game? Anything in here to optimize the game? I only really want the 4k videos. IS there a way to get that without increasing anything else?

    Great mod! Everything works great on my 5090, but I'm noticing redonk pop-in on ground debris (like random stones, pieces of wood, and some plants) and I can't see a setting for draw distance.

    What setting would be causing this please? Thanks!

      Texture streaming issue. Don't use stuff like this on a 5080. If you are experiencing issues in this game it is not because of the game, you are just on a bloated OS with a GPU you cannot possibly understand how to use.

      This is a graphical improvement mod. Why would I not want to use it?

    Hi,
    The game runs fine, but i have lag in the 4K ultrawide cinematics. Any setting I should lower to have smoother cinematics?
    Thanks
