So you might have noticed Planetary Survey Tech is completely useless on maps where you start inland far from any sea or lakes. 300++ turn games before I realized? Check. NO more, with 1 extra expedition and 10% work speed increase, it just might make sense to pick it up! Think that’s a fairly balanced upgrade all things considered. It's not like the workers are that quick anyway. 

v2 Now Planetary Survey is required for Water vessel traders 
v3 Fixed worker speed increase to actually be 10% instead of 50%? like Surrogacy tech version is in current Civ patch.

Manually install by putting the unpacked folder in:

C:\Users\"User"\Documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth\MODS

or along similar lines (I use win 8.1).
