Just a heads up incase some of you are losing your zones, tent zones or settlements.
As mentioned this bug isn't a mod issue. What I've found is that stashing items inside multiple chests within a zone, whether it's a vanilla town, modded settlement or tent zone, causes memory leaks and hits you with "System.OutOfMemoryException: Out of memory" when trying to load back into said zone. I have been storing all of my items within my companions and chopping off their legs so they act as living chests for me. They live in the banana tent forever. Haven't had a thawzone exception since then.
Another thing to note because this isn't repeated enough; if you load into a zone that was "reset", don't panic, don't save, then quit without saving. Close the game entirely, then reopen the game and load your save. Your previously poofed zone is now magically back (for now). If it isn't, your save might be too bloated.
Hey man, the mod is working great, but I have a small issue. I can't change the cursor size, I keep pressing ctrl+2 and ctrl+8 and they do nothing. Do you have any idea why that might be? Also, less importantly, does the mod have a way to delete natural objects, or do you have to do it yourself?
I re-loaded my most recent game with my settlement intact, all my fixings tucked away.
After I finished a mission for the Barathrumites, I went back home to find it completely gone. No Xyloschemer, no buildings, all my equipment just Gone.
For reference, I did take some skills when I levelled up from the Hearthpyre mod, so i'm wondering if those caused a reset of my settled areas. Specifically, I took the base one, Mayor and I think one other.
It's not the worst thing, it just means i'll have to Wish for most of my stuff back unfortunately.
Yeah this is going around in general, it's not Hearthpyre related thankfully but it sucks that it happened to your settlement. (We have some half dozen reports of folks' chest in Joppa being empty for the same reason)
Every time a zone's frozen/thawed a small save is made of just that map -- if one of your mods is updated (poorly, in a way that breaks saves) between your visits, it might fail to load, causing the zone to rebuild.
Another cause of rebuilds seems to be playing in a mode with checkpointing (wander, roleplay) and using manual debug saves on top, causing a desync of your cached zones. It's not something we've been able to reproduce internally, we've only been seeing the symptoms.
Adding some mitigations to the base game in 203.21 towards saves/zones breaking, it'll now only fail the individual objects instead of causing the entire zone to rebuild.
