- Permissions and credits
This mod aims to enhance the audio quality of PC of the animated cutscenes and game audio.
Initially the plan was to backport ALL audio from Full Body to the PC version. Cutscenes included but it was too big of a task due to various circumstances such as the sheer amount of audio, and some newer cutscenes having Rin in them where they weren't before. So I settled on using the 360 audio. The change in quality between the PC audio and Xbox 360 is negligible. Still the quality is a bit higher.
The 2D Animated cutscenes suffered the most on PC, with compression that's 10 times worse than even the Xbox 360 with macro blocking and artifacts and loss of colour. The audio quality was incredibly poor, even being worse then 360 with heavy compression artifacts and what sounds like joint stereo for the audio compression. This mod ported the PS3 cutscenes and upscaled them to 1080p and restored surround audio for all the 2D animated cutscenes where available. The audio has been re-encoded into Microsoft’s propriety WMA 10 Pro at a way higher bit rate then the vanilla PC version.
This mod also includes the improved music mod by Blader Cut on Redditt who has ported the audio from Full Body while also using OST versions for the additional tracks.
Hopefully this little side project will help PC players enjoy the game a bit more (Until we get full body)
This mod comes in two variants. One using Reloaded II by Sewer 56 if you don’t want to deal with replacing files and redownloading the vanilla files, and one that just overwrites the base files. Installation Instructions for both are below.
Installation Instructions (Reloaded II)

2: Create a "Mods" Folder inside the Reloaded II directory.
3: Place The Catherine Audio & Video Enhancement Pack Folder (English Or Japanese) Into That "Mods" Directory. so your path should be Reloaded II/Mods/Catherine Classic Audio & Video Enhancement Pack (English).
4: Once everything is set up launch Reloaded II. The Program will prompt you to update the required libraries required for this mod to function properly if an update is available. Go through all your windows, sometimes the download window is hidden.
5: Once the download is complete launch reloaded

7: Click the “New” Button and look for the Catherine exe. You can find this by right clicking on the title in your Steam Library and then clicking properties. Go to the Installed Files tab on the left side and hit Browse. You’ll be taken to your installation directory.
8: Copy the path in your address bar when Reloaded II ask for the path and this will lead you to the same path as your steam install as well. Once there you can add the Catherine.exe
9: Go to “Manage Mods” in there you’ll see your current mods. Catherine Audio And Video Enhancement Pack once and at the bottom you’ll see the supported games. Make sure the tick at the bottom is red. (This step is no longer required in newer builds. If you've added the Catherine.exe already all supported mods should show up once you click the Sh3 icon in the side pane.) (This step should only be done if the mod doesn’t show up)
10: If you followed all these steps a Icon should appear on the left side click Catherine icon and your supported mods will appear.
