This mod is awesome and adds the spice I was looking for in this sim.I play in expert mode (it's complicated since I don't know anything about car mechanics, but that's okay — I’m learning at my own pace!). Contrary to the author's warning, it is totally doable from the start without any prior research. You just have to manage the cars waiting in the parking lot and take your time. Do the repairs you can on a car and don’t hesitate to return it unfinished for a bit of money.Thank you for this great mod!
Is there any way to enable all engine parts for purchase? As far as I can tell, the whitelist feature doesn't actually work. For example, I can add" "V6", "V6 B", "Throttle (V6 B)" and I still can't purchase "Throttle (V6 B)" which is required for some of the modern I4 engines. And I can't get I4 oil filters to be allowed either, even though those are used in modern engines too.
As a suggestion, filters/wires/belts should never be disabled for purchase. Those are quite easy to find in custom or outdated sizes IRL. You might consider allowing all head covers and oil pans also, even if they're really expensive to purchase, since they're nearly impossible to find in junk yards because of how the game generates junk engines. It'd also be nice if we could prevent the filters from applying to the tuning shops, since those are essentially custom made aftermarket/non-OEM parts.
The price adjustments are just crazy high, its a nice mod but the pricing and parts availability isnt that "realistic" id say. Could use some fine tuning and maybe more settings
I have played CMS with my own self-imposed 'hardcore' mode. Where I would only buy auction, barn, and junkyard cars. Then strip them down to have enough parts to rebuild one car. In CMS 2018 I built a car fully from parts at 75%. By the time I finished I no longer remembered why I did that, but I had a fully running car at 75%. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Despite the description line of "In real life, it's unlikely that you can buy a new body part or engine for cars older than 2005." I gave this mod a go. New orginal manufacture parts would be one thing, but there are companies dedicated to making replacement parts for nearly everything out there.
Had a problem with some parts disapearing when disassembling wheels and engines. The price adjustments of the cars is just bonkers. Over 400,000 for a 2003 SCEO LX550 in the junkyard. :|
This is a cool mod, but as a professional mechanic myself, I'm not sure it adds realism. Aftermarket parts for many cars made before 2005 are quite readily available, even to amateurs/hobbyists who don't have access to suppliers who work with mechanic shops; and the latter can usually get parts for cars that sold well dating back to the mid-90s at least. Not to be a wet blanket or anything, just two cents.
I can agree with some other comments, the Idea of the mod is great and looking forward to it. I tried it, but Few things I found so far a big bummer for me is, no performance parts for all the cars bellow 2005. And maybe if all parts are fixable, then limit should be set to those parts,that cant be fixed in real life. Or in general most parts shouldnt be 100% fixable, but I blame devs on not making this part realistic. =p Keep up a good work, needs some shaping on the performance parts and service parts(pads,bushes,filters etc). shouldnt be fixable. And this mod will be great, defo keeping eye on it for the updates.
I found an old bmw from 1990 , dismantled it, but at the moment i took the tires apart and repaired the rims, they disappeared in my inventory. They are not sold in the store, but should be visible in my inventory. At the moment i took away the mod from the mod-dir and launched the game, the rims reappeared so i guess it has to do with this mod. the rims were RIMS 18A.
Another thing i would like to suggest: - I know maybe its a thing for a new mod, but for realism purposes it would be cool that you can repair broken parts only up to 90 or 95 % (always bugged me, that you can repair things to new, not good as new); I dont mind the bonus for fully restored cars. Old cars are not new, they can be in good shape, but they are still old
This mod has great potential to be a must have for the people who like realism. My only issue is lack of access to non repairable parts. I'm not sure how this mod does what it does so I'm not sure if this issue can be worked around.
Yes, I am developing this mod with a focus on realism, and I agree that I need to address the issue with repairing found parts such as glass, headlights, etc. I am working on it, and I will release an intermediate update of this mod soon. Thank you very much for your feedback!
yeah well.... though i like being able to repair everything but.... isn't that somewhat unrealistic again and thus counter your original intention? i mean sure, windows (to SOME extend) and the lights (which should have been repairable in the game anyway) or even the tires (again to some extend at least) are ok in that but there a lot of things that couldn't be fixed in reality and those too can be now repaired... it's likely a bit too much work (if possible in this game at all) to have different min (and maybe even max) values from (and to) a part can be 'fixed' but at least some parts should not be fixable at all (e.g. air filter - ever tried to 'clean' those? or brake pads? ^^) i didn't try every part but the only one that wasn't repairable so far were the licenze plates - and those, should be repairable imo... oh, and something else: some parts are now extremely more expensive to repair compared to just buying them... while that IS realistic, it's a pain in the arse to doubblecheck everytime - and yes, i only speak of those parts that ARE buyable, not the ones that you removed from beeing so (like some v12 motor parts for example). if the repair price of such unbuyable parts is high, that's fine but you should change the prices from available part (shop) back to normal or, mark them as available/unavailable parts at least (might be the easier and more realistic way to do). and yet one more: tires... don't take them out of the shop. e.g. oldtimer sport tire (or what ever they are called in english). point is tires are either always avilable or they don't need to be in this game at all. sure, you can put any tires on the rims but it makes no sense to remove them just because the car(s) that use them (or not) shouldn't have buyable parts (which is also only half true since many parts in this game still are 'default' parts). just let the tires be, it does not add to anything but annoyment... ... yet another one: tuning parts, especially tuning gear. since you can't find them in barns or the junkyard, your mod makes it essentialy impossible to tune any vehicle of which parts can't be bought. also, i had some trouble with some jobs where the car were of this 'parts unbuyable' group and they had broken down parts that i could not replace. that results in this job immpossible to finish - and keeping them around until i can find the parts isn't an option. since we can't see beforehand what is exactly the problem of a car (would otherwise be a rather trivial game ^^), the only chance to prevent this is by never accepting jobs with cars of that age... not really a fun way to play the game either.
Congratulations on such a fantastic Mod, increasingly unbeatable.I would like to know if it would be possible to include the F8 again to repair windshields, tires,..., as the first one you published was exceptional.Thank you and again Congratulations, greetings.
Well, no problem, it really is fantastic, my request was because in a previous version it could be done and I thought it was not difficult to implement. As I say, it is still spectacular, I hope it can be included again in the future, thank you very much for all your work and effort.

I have fixed this issue, now all prices for different periods can be changed in the configuration file using these variables:
[CarSection]
....
PriceParts1950_1959 = 30
PriceParts1960_1969 = 24
PriceParts1970_1979 = 20
PriceParts1980_1990 = 17
PriceParts1991_2000 = 14
PriceParts2001_2005 = 10
PricePartsSportGT = 22
PricePartsSpecialRetro = 50
PricePartsOther = 5
...
```
where you can set multiple values to change the price, and if you set it to one (1), it will revert to the original price value.
One big request: Could you add an option to disable common items from the shop like tires, stock parts, etc.?
Like: absModul_1, filtr_1, etc.
I was looking for a ultra hardcore experience. Your effort wold mean the world to me!
Let me know if I can help.
At the moment, the mod does not support window and tire repair through the F8 button :-(
