Don't worry about replacing the asset files, those are to change the logos that accompany the authentic car names. Those files are outdated and not necessary. If you did still want to have the authentic logos, there is a method that works with QoLMOD you can use.
Heyo y'all, can someone explain to me how to properly instal this mod? I am doing something wrong and I don't know what Im doing wrong. When I instal it in my CMS 21 folder (CMS21_data --> StreamingAssets --> Cars), and I press load game it doesn't work on my loaded save, the cars still have the fantasy names. Same thing when I enter a new game.
You don't need to copy all the files, just extract the Car Mechanic Simulator 2021_Data/StreamingAssets/Cars folder from the mod file. Then search for "config" in the search section when you are in all the car files. And delete them all. Leave only "name.txt" files in the car folders. Then copy all car files into the Car Mechanic Simulator 2021_Data/StreamingAssets/Cars folder in the directory where the game is installed. The vehicle names will be changed.
just downloaded the game, can confirm this mod works but you have to search and delete all original config files in 'cars' folder then transfer the contents of modded 'cars' folder. Also dont transfer the globalgameassets file, this worked for me
is there any update or estimated time as to when the physical car logo mod will be available? I've seen it on other people's videos and i want it so bad lol. just makes the game that much cooler to no longer have fictitious car names.

"If you have Authentic Branding downloaded, use the folder titled '[Authentic Branding Compatible]' so you have no issues when using these mods together." What is "Authentic Branding" and where could it have been downloaded from? Is it official DLC or a mod? And what is "QoLmod"? Will this mod work out if i dont not paste the globalgamemanagers.assets resp. i just skip this step? To me its enough when just the brand and model names are real. If the logos will work out its fine. Probably i should disable steam update for CMS21. And generally its just about overwriting original file data and not forgetting to backup before doin so, right? I really appreciate your work. I just lost my edited data (and it were just the names) when moving game via steam from one ssd to another one. I lost the work of 2,5 hours.
Authentic Branding is my other mod, and QoLmod is another mod available on Nexus that allows for more simple editing of the textures without replacing the .assets files. To keep everything simple, you do not need to replace the globalmanagers.assets if you do not want to. If you only replace the files located in the Cars folder, you will have the car names updated to show the real makes and models! I understand everything is a little confusing, and I do apologize for any additional headaches it may cause.
And I am sorry to hear that you lost data when transferring files between drivers, I know it’s a pain to deal with. Just take a small break from everything to let the frustration pass, and give it another go!

So does this mod just change the names of the cars in the menus or does it also change the logos on the cars themselves? I installed with QoL and no branding on the vehicles changed, just the names in the menus.
It isn't the logos as in the badging on the cars that changes, it's the logos that appear with the vehicle details. For example, if you were to view all of the vehicles together from the main menu, you will see the genuine car names and the manufacturer logo to at the top of each "vehicle card". You can also see the logos when viewing the vehicle info from within the game when viewing the details of a particular car. The actual badging and emblems on the vehicles themselves are not modified with this mod (though that is something I have attempted with my Authentic Branding mod, and have so far been unsuccessful).
