Installing QoLmod (Qualify of Life MOD) for Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 Microsoft Store “PC Xbox” version of the game.
If you have Steam version of the game, this document does not apply to your game.

Following steps are needed to make 3rd party mods work with Xbox version: l
- Using UWPDumper to get game out of Microsoft Store folder
- Install MelonLoader
- Install QoLmod
- Install additional mods
Let’s start with UWPDumper:
You will need TWICE the hard drive space what game uses, because you will dump all game files to new directory. (around 25 gigabytes)
Download UWPDumper tools from https://github.com/Wunkolo/UWPDumper/releases/
Then run them game first, so game is running already when you start UWPInjector.exe
You need to look “Car Mechanic Simulator 2021.exe” and type that ProcessID number.
If you don’t find game exe, then close the tools and go to main menu of the game first.
After you have typed ProcessID number, tool will start dumping the game files to folder.
It will take quite long time. Just wait and don’t close or play the game meantime.
After the tool has finished, it will show you the folder name, which is long folder with ending of \TempState\DUMP\
Encrypted game folder (before UWPDumper) will look like this:
Please notice, example the exe file is encrypted and you can’t see the logo.
After UWPDumper, you have folder that is decrypted and you can run game normally by
running “Car Mechanic Simulator 2021.exe“
You can safely move the DUMP\ folder somewhere else and rename it.
I recommend moving the folder so its not that long. Game does not support extra long foldernames. (car parts thumbnail icon issue)
then create shortcut so you will start game from here for now on.
Now you are ready to next step.
Please note, this will not affect Xbox login and you will need to log with Microsoft account on game startup and save games will work same way.
Installing MelonLoader:
https://github.com/LavaGang/MelonLoader.Installer/releases/latest/download/MelonLoader.Installer.exe
If you don’t see your game automatically on the list, then add folder manually.
Please note, you need install 0.6.6 version of the MelonLoader.
any other mod will NOT work with this version of MelonLoader if they are not specifically designed to work with MelonLoader 0.6.x
MelonLoader 0.5.7 will CRASH with this version of the game so you cant use that one sadly.
Now you are ready to next step.
Installing QoLmod:
Download xbox designed version of QoLmod from Nexusmods
and unzip the ZIP file to folder *gamefolder*\Mods\
after unzip, there should be .dll file inside Mods\ folder and also folder \Mods\QoLmod\ should exist.
You WILL notice if QoLmod is working, example game will SKIP Main Menu by default. Also, there is Car Editor button if you go to Main Menu.
After first run, you will have a file *gamefolder*\Mods\QoLmod\QoLmod.cfg which you can freely edit.
Additional mods:
Following mod can be installed with PC Xbox version manually:
-any number of car mods
-liveries for cars
-additional configs for cars
-language mods
-garage texture pack
-dashboard dials (rare, not tested)
Finding and installing these kinds of mods is not that simple, because they need manual work. (compared to Steam Workshop)
Following mods can’t be installed: (game only support loading them from Steam Workshop)
-bonus parts
-maps
-photo locations
-license plate mods (game will load local files only if Steam Workshop is enabled, so nope)
