If anyone wants to make a dumb BL3 Drakeposting meme like the mod image for whatever reason, I put all the assets I made in a standalone miscellaneous file in the downloads section of this mod, including transparent .PNGs and original Photoshop .PSDs. (Not that you really *need* those to re-use the current image.)
One of the biggest failings of the games past BL1 was how the more interesting elemental mechanics from the first game were not only dumbed down into flat out damage reduction/multipliers, but done so in such a way that you were actively punished for wanting to use an otherwise cool corrosive legendary on anything other than armor bar - So much so that corrosive was deemed worthless in the Presequel and pinned it on a lack of armored enemies to use it on rather than the fact it was made to be s*** outside of it's single niche.
And now with this lovely tweak, we're free to tailor things to our choosing and I'm certainly looking forward to tweaking it so any elemental legendary is still legendary, regardless of whether or not I choose to play into the rock-paper-scissors bullshit.
Exactly how I feel. I loved how BL1 was set up with each element sort of being like Cryo and Rad are now; less important for overcoming damage resistance vs. their specific targets, and more about secondary effects like weakening the target or AOE opportunities. (And whatever happened to the amazing animation of electrocuted enemies' heads turning into skulls and then exploding?)
I can't take credit for making the tweaking as easy as it is, though; CZ47 originally found the numbers to alter and, when I asked on the BL3 Modding Discord server if anyone knew how to do this, sent me their mod that was set up the way this one is (only real difference was all the numbers were originally set to 1.0, for testing purposes).
So basically all I actually did was upload their mod (with permission) to more public spaces and pre-set the numbers to suggest percentages that I thought would make more sense/be more fun than how the game has them by default - with the full intention of other people altering them further to something probably even better than I have set.
Oh, and made that stupid meme for the mod image, I guess.
