Leaving this here for people that might be tempted by "no detectable loss in performance" as that's just not true. 160fps without, 100-110 fps with (unstable) and that's just on the main menu. Inside Sanctuary dropped from 110fps to 60-70 and then you go into Moxxi's and it starts visually lagging at 40-50fps with spikes down a little lower. Also the contrast is pretty damn high. Darks are pretty damn dark and then brights are holy f*** my eyes. This was on default brightness settings.
So if you like that kinda thing go for it but my opinion is that it is not subtle whatsoever and you really get caught by the differences. Really takes more away from the experience than adds to it, and really it's just the contrast that does this. Even from the pictures on the description page you can see that the contrast is turned WAY high. In the first 2 images you see with the preset on that the shadow gets a lot darker (than should be considering there is sufficient ambient light that shadows especially ones so thin shouldn't be able to get that dark) while the surrounding dirt is much darker and effectively orange now.
Can't really figure out why this preset got so many DLs and endorsements, it's pretty bad.
Seems you've had a less than normal experience Zesty. I am playing this game right now and i have some framerate drops in a couple areas in particular but that is it. All sweetfx ,ReShade or ENB mods use more resources- common knowledge really. I have designed this to be richer and a bit more cinematic. Dynamics of the lighting is extended for effect.I use a GTX560 Ti and it runs beautiful and is vibrant. Plays awesome on a GTX560Ti in my computer. Let that soak in a minute. Your issue is with your card and drivers not responding well to the SweetFX binaries. Simply move on and make your own it's not that hard. Good Luck.
Man, this shader is so awful. All the details are washed out as the light is too saturated, as the colors. It's just too much in everything, even with low luminosity. You know, it's the crapy shader that you have once make yourself when trying out reshade/sweetFX :') a kid's draw Just delete the mod's dll files to uninstall it
Somehow this fixed whatever performance issues I stil had after turning off the black outline. Relieved that I can use it again after way too much troubleshooting I had to be doing lately unrelated to this.
I sadly can't make it work either, the launcher appears without any image behind, then when launching it shows a "d3d9.dll" error. Had to remove the mod's files...
A bit late but if you're still interested; simply rename the file "dxgi.dll" in the Binaries folder of the game to "d3d11.dll" after you installed SweetFX. All there is to it. Sometimes you even need to make a copy of dxgi.dll and rename both the original and the copy d3d9.dll and d3d11.dll respectively. It's a common problem with SweetFX. It also sometimes conflicts with overlays like Steam's or MSI Afterburner's for some reason but I haven't had this issue with BL2.
If the previous solution fails, the correct solution (credit to H3X1C) is to delete dxgi.dll. Everything else is good, but dxgi.dll causes crashes on startup.
Came here for this, funny tho, it seem like this is the case with alot of games, why does the mod author include it then? or not rename/delete the file themselves?
So for some reason nothing is working for me. I remapped the key to "~", and I've played with some of the settings, but I can't see any difference. Any ideas why it might not be working?
For reference, I'm on maxed everything except PhysX, 2560x1440, Quadro P4000 (playing it on my home workstation)

I'll try as soon as possible and tell you how it goes!
On a side note, do I need to launch the Nvidia inspector tool every time or is this accessory?
