A Note: This mod was originally inspired by Ezeith's BL2Reborn Part Notifier, and it's feature to explain red text. I started to work on this mod a while ago and hadn't finished it, but Ezeith has since released his own mod. This is in no way meant to be a competitor or copy of his mod, as I see my own version as being different enough to have it's own merits. However, I would recommend anyone go and download his mod if you want completely vanilla and much simpler explanations for items, rather than my rather lengthy explanations

Community Patch Red Text Explainer

This mod aims to add very detailed explanations of all weapon and item effects given by red text, and including additional changes done to weapons and items from the Unofficial Community Patch.

Things to expect
  • Slight modifications to red texts to allow for descriptions to be added.
  • Smaller text on item cards.
  • Very detailed descriptions, no stat or special effects have been left behind!
  • Possible walls of text in order to cover every detail.
  • Community Patch changes on item cards.
  • Vanilla description pieces left out if overwritten by Community patch changes.

Recommended Installation/Use
  • Make sure you can run mods! (Info can be found here on how to enable console and run mods with BLCMM)
    • Optionally (or if BLCMM doesn't work, as it did for Commander Lilith's release), you can use the Hex Multitool (Github page) to enable mods.
  • Download the mod from the Files tab.
    • (Optional) Head over to your Borderlands 2 install folder and place the file inside the Binaries folder. (Default path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries)
  • Open BLCMM (Direct Link to Dropbox download)
  • In BLCMM, open up your Community Patch file.
  • Import the mod into your Community patch. (In BLCMM, File > Import Mod File(s) > Find in file browser)
    • Shortcuts can take you to the game's Binaries folder. Otherwise, find the file where you placed it.
  • Make sure the merged file is in Binaries (Same file path as above) so you can launch it in-game.
    • (Optional) Rename the file to something simple to make the mod activation process easier
  • Modify as you see fit.
  • Installed!
