Well, I've had several issues in the past two months that have prevented me from releasing updates for my mods to version 1.31. One of them was the infamous bug of not being able to load old saves. But now it's all fixed. All my mods will be updated in the next few days. Thanks to everyone who let me know about these game updates.
In some of my mods, I've added new stuff. In others, I've removed the excessive and unnecessary amount of options that I had previously made available. In most of my mods, I've just converted to the new version of UE4 currently used by the game.
If you want me to keep updating my mods, please don't forget to endorse them all. It was very laborious for me to update them. Make all my effort worthwhile.
======== UPDATE ========
=> 2022-06-16 - Updated to version 1.31 and removing unnecessary available options:
- I removed the excessive amount of options offered by this mod. Now only the "Purple" and "Translucent" Bat Wings with or without Dual Color are available. All with or without "wings flapping" sound effect;
- I removed the options that make the "Bathin wings" invisible. Now, Bathin has "Translucent Green" Bat Wings exclusively for him.
So I've followed your instructions for installations but the mod doesn't seem to be working. not sure if I'm missing a step or if the mod is simply just outdated. I'd appreciate some feedback if possible, would love to be able to use this mod of yours!!!
Just in case, all main files of "Bat Wings" versions 1.0 work fine with Bloodstained ROTN v1.21 (for those still using the older version of the game because of the broken mods compatibility with the newer v1.30).
I don't know if you still work on those modes but is there a chance to have basically no wings and no effects when double jumping? You basically see the character just double jump. I downloaded and use all your mods, those are awesome!
I'm glad you appreciate all my mods. Unfortunately, I'm not creating any more mods for this game. And if I come to release any, it is because it has been ready for a long time. This that you suggested would interfere with the "Andrealphus" boss. The wings that Miriam displays are the same as those seen on the Boss. Trying to remove the VFX from Miriam's double jump would remove them from the boss as well.
Great mod, brings back the classic SotN double jump feels! BTW, if by Bathin you mean the boss you get the Double Jump from, that's Andrealphus. Bathin is the one that gives you the Reflector Ray. I appreciate the compliment. I think you couldn't understand what I said. I know who each one is. The double jump boss is "Andrealphus". The boss of Reflector Ray is "Bathin". The "wings" that Andrealphus displays have their 3d model shared with Miriam and Bathin. When I changed the VFX of the double jump to "Bat wings", automatically, Miriam and Bathin will have these same wings (Bathin's wings are green). Some people asked me to make available a version that would make Bathin's wings invisible because they thought they didn't match that boss. Why would I make Andrealphus' wings invisible? It is not the purpose of this mod and it would make no sense for it to be done.
Oh, now that clarifies a lot. I've been playing with the regular mod version and never even noticed the wings on Bathin (and I've faced him quite a few times in my insane completionist medal hunt). Is it called only during a specific attack or something? Regardless, thanks for the explanation. I initially thought you wanted to hide the wings on Andrealphus so the effect would be exclusive to Miriam.
It's all right. If you can't see it maybe you're using the version of my mod that makes "Bathin's wings" invisible. Watch this video because it answers your question:
Well, this is something that I never tried to modify in this game and what I have superficially verified is that it is only possible to change the game's soundtracks but not the effects sounds. I will check it out better and if it is possible to modify this, perhaps, I will add this option to this mod with a "wings flapping" sound in place of the original sound effect.
I already figured out how to do it. I already intended to do this but I didn't know how. Soon I will be updating this mod with new options. Coming soon.
Would it be possible to make a version that only shows one pair of wings, instead of three or four? Perhaps you could use an empty alpha channel texture on the additional wings to make them invisible.
Well, the VFX of these wings is not as simple as it seems to be. These "wings" (which in the original concept of the effect are not wings but several "feathers" arranged like a fan like a peacock's tail) consist of a mesh that is created only one "instance" of it and repeated a few times in a single direction in semicircle form. This way, it is not possible to choose which "wings" will be hidden because they are not several different wings but only one repeated 3 or 4 times. To achieve what you suggested, I would need to have access to the code that controls the effect (Blueprint on UE4) and make the necessary modifications. Unfortunately, there are no tools available for this currently. Bloodstained has no official support for mods. The tools available today deal only with graphic things.

Can you make a mod to remove/change the double jump sound effect too.
I hate this sound effect so much.

Done. It is now available for download.

I hope this helps to reduce my growing loss of interest in creating and sharing mods for Bloodstained - Ritual of the Night.
Sorry for the delay, but I'm very busy these days and to make matters worse I'm not very excited about sharing mods for this game.
