Amazing work. I just installed it on my PS4 thanks to your tutorial! I just have one little problem...
The boss's design is incredible. I feel like I found a legendary beast that is thousands of years old, the mud lake, bolt AOE attacks, and that screaming omg
The only problem is... the guy is one shooting me, I'm not sure if the lightnings coming from the sky are hitting me multiple times or what, but falling to dodge them results in instant death. I haven't been able to reduce his health by 10%, I'm using all the bolt resistant armor that I got and my total HP is 1235. Also, is it safe to assume he is week against fire and serrated damage?
I will keep trying after leveling up a little, but so far, it looks like you just made the hardest boss of the entire game.
Thanks again for the mod, I will be looking forward to new mods made from you!
Very little fun to be had when the boss can only be adequately fought using specific circumstances. A good boss would cater to a variety of different characters and combat styles, including Level 4 characters.
This time I'm playing with an even stronger character with better Blood Gems and using two Clockwise Metamorphosis Runes to increase my health further. I'm wearing Henryk's Armor for lightning resistance. I'm using Fire Paper. None of it matters because I can still get one shotted at full health in the second phase. Either I get roll caught and die in one bolt, or I get stun-locked by one and then killed by a second bolt. Sometimes a random hail of three or four bolts happens on top of you and kills you instantly. This boss is no good. It's terribly unbalanced. The only way to win is to keep trying and hope a random unpredictable lightning bolt doesn't end the fight in an instant. There is no difficulty. It's nothing but a test of your patience. This deserves an AVGN episode.
UPDATE: It's even worse! I just got one shot at full health by a lightning bolt in the second phase while not in a vulnerable state! There's no way it could have been critical damage! It also wasn't one of those larger bolts it launches after charging up! This boss is not worth it. Even the best player in the world could still lose for reasons that are no fault of their own. It feels terrible to fight it, and it feels even more terrible knowing now that the last time I beat it was nothing but luck. You should be ashamed for putting this mod out in this state.
Love the Arena, 9.9/10 (0.1 is because you can notice the skybox being copy pasted multiple times in the distance). Probably my new fav area in Bloodborne.
The boss is insanely cool, excellent job with recreating its look from the low res texture..., but damn if these lightening attacks can almost 1-shot you (if the first hit staggers you) at 80 vitality;, ended up cheesing the fight by getting it stuck on the ruins
Now I just need to find out how to replace it with other bosses to take thousands of screenshots
I think this is a terrible boss. I don't know how much of this boss was made by you and how much was originally made by FromSoftware. I'm just going to say it how it is based how it currently is in the game using this mod. I like the boss design. I like a lot of it's attacks. The jump attacks are flawed. It's obviously programmed to use them when it's far away from you to close the distance. It's jump attacks have really bad hitboxes, and it always ends up far enough away from you to make it do another jump attack. It usually ends up being a loop of it hitting me and me healing until I can finally get close enough to make it STOP jump attacking.
The main problem is that the boss spends too much time running away from you. Not only that, but it seems like it's immune to damage while it's flying through the air, almost as if it's considered a dodge move by the game. You spend most of the fight chasing after it which leads to a boring, long, and drawn out experience. Also, the way it looks while flying around is very unbelievable. Not convincing at all. It makes this part of the fight feel even more jank and stupid, and you just wish it wasn't a part of the fight to begin with.
Another issue is it's damage boxes. They seem to be smaller than its actual body. There seem to be no damage boxes in the tail at all, and there were many times where I was slashing at it's body that dealt no damage even though it was just standing there. I was using the Saw Cleaver.
Finally, the boss itself deals way too much damage. The character I was using to fight this thing was Level 140 and had 50 Vitality, and two thunderbolts was enough to kill me. That is ridiculous. I know that it's a Depth 5 Chalice Dungeon, however, I come from the perspective that Depth 5 dungeon bosses were flawed to begin with, and they always dealt too much damage. If I were the author of a mod like this, I would use making my mod as an opportunity to improve upon the original game design. I would have made it more balanced. Unfortunately, you seem to try to stick to Bloodborne's original design, which isn't that great at the end of the day.
installed correctly, no chalice at insight shop... edit: nevermind. didnt relize i replaced the gameparam file from another mod.
i must be missing something, because this thing is hitting for full health at 99 vigor. also is it normal for it's AI to have it constantly jump to the other side of the arena when you get near it? none of this behavior, damage value, or amount health was present in the old save edited dungeons with it in the base game. there, it functioned more like a balanced boss. this feels incorrect. or maybe something is wrong with my version of shadPS4 despite updating it at the source github and its screwing with this mod's values...
im trying to think of any base game anything that can one shot you at 99 Vigor with a random attack and it not being a cursed chalice. cuz thats what im getting with doing the fight uncursed. i can dodge all i want, but all it takes i one stray bolt in phase 2 and there goes all progress of chipping away for an hour. maybe it'd be less terrible if it didnt jump across the map when you get close to it...
Take a video with your armor and rune setup showing yourself getting one shot, but this boss has some of the highest damage attacks in the game, for example one of the jumps has 431 base damage, some of the lightning has 300-400 base damage. As a comparison, Amygdala's jump slam one of the highest damaging monster attack with 490 base damage.

One that wouldn't conflict with your other mod? You don't have to be as much creative and make a good moveset for the boss, just add it to the game.
This is so cool.

Yes the boss is weak to fire and serrated.
Have fun.
