hey there, i misunderstood the steps and patched the .000 file (my main save) and now its causing the game to crash upon launching said save, any idea how to fix this? I imagine just opening the file and editing back the 01 to a 00 would do it but i dont know what software i need to open the save folder, thanks
Notepad++ has a optional hex editor plugin (ie not built in, install it using the plugin manager) After opening the file go Plugins -> HEX-Editor -> View in hex Scroll down address 2040 in the leftmost column, the value you need to change is in the E column. Do not blindly change it to '00' though, that is only what would've been there in the correct file, not this file. In my userdata0000 (my best guess as to what file you're talking about) it should be 'ff' to follow the pattern there
This mod didn't really fix it even though I followed a tutorial (edit: didnt know i had to run the .bat every single time it crashed, heehee) However, I did find a temporary workaround to restore any lost audio, this might help some of you if you have this issue still (thx to a thread online when searching potential fixes for this issue, thank you to whoever you are)
How to replicate broken audio: 1 - alt-F4 during gameplay 2 - launch game 3 - audio is now broken
1 - game crash during gameplay 2 - launch game 3 - audio is now broken
Temporary workaround if your audio breaks: 1 - The above has happened and your game audio is now broken 2 - launch the game 3 - no sound? Load your character anyway 4 - Save and quit to the main menu 5 - now alt-F4 your game 6 - relaunch your game 7 - the audio is now fixed (until the next crash)
