So I am not getting the sensations to trigger even after installing everything as correctly and by the book as possible. I checked a thread that had a similar issue and I can confirm I am not running any anti-virus software. Melonloader says there is no mods that are active even after installing manually and with the mod manager. I am simply at a loss of how to continue :(
Not right now, since it's a scripted mod. They just announced a beta for script mod support in Nomad, but I will have to see if I can port it... And will have to buy Nomad first. ;-)
I honestly don't know for sure, I'm just some guy who made some mods because I like haptic gear of all kinds...
But: I have heard people say that it's named after the sound one makes when one tries it for the first time, like similar to "Oh, wow"...
Honestly, the gear is great for people who want to change their play style because they are actually afraid of getting hurt and go through games more careful. But most other sensations aren't amazing, and it's very much a bleeding edge product, so only recommendable for enthusiasts...
Well, it's an electric shock. So it will hurt on your skin, but mostly it will contract the muscle underneath the skin. All the electrodes are placed on top of large muscle groups, so it will just contract the muscle there to a painful degree. The pain is more "inside" than on top of the skin, if that makes sense, maybe imagine a (rather short but very strong) muscle cramp.
This is actually much more effort. The mod hooks into the bhaptics triggers of the game, and bhaptics as far as I know only got a native implementation on U12. So it just won't work this way on older versions of the game...
"OWO What's th-" *as I see the digital blade enter my digital body, the suit wrapped around my real one erupts in writhing agony, I feel every inch of the blade sheer through my intestines, I fall to the floor, gripping the carpet until my palms bleed, I will never know this kind of pain again*
will you add stab, slash, and weight feelings at some point?
Edit: can anyone that's used it yet tell me how this feels? and if I should get the owo or bhaptic. I've heard that the owo is more for the pain where bhaptic is more about just feel in general.
If the Modder can get it to replicate the things I mentioned that would be sick especially with the team working on 1.0 of the game
Weight feelings is a bit tougher, I will try to see if that's possible. Stabbing and slashing are in there, though currently only as default "damage" effects. The thing is: This device does not allow for moving patterns, or even a shape in a sensation, it can just play back something at one of 10 different points on your body. And while the website makes it sounds like the feeling is totally real and amazing, it isn't. It's just electric stimulation, like other vests are just vibrations, this is not magic.
What it can do very well is hurt you. Which does absolutely influence your gameplay, you will be more careful and play a different style than you probably would otherwise. For everything else, bhaptics is way better.
At this point in time, I cannot in good conscience recommend people to buy the OWO skin as a plug&play device that will improve the immersion. There are very few supported games (really only VRChat and the mods I made), and it's still prone to crashes or issues in the software and the skin's firmware. But if you like to tinker, want to change up your play style because you are afraid of getting hit, and have the money, sure, go for it. If you make special sensations for getting hit with different types of weapons, I can absolutely include those in the mod.
Thanks for letting me know! I'll get the bhaptic for now, then the owo later when it has more compatibility, cant rush perfection. also the bhaptic with get me use to feeling things on my body before feeling pain ":).
