About this mod
An RPG-Style adventure that brings the Market alive with 12+ characters, voice acting, and interactive shops for weapons, apparel, and magical items!
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
On this adventure, the Market is populated with people you can chat with, shops you can visit, and several quests to embark on, at your own pace and in any order you wish.
Will you choose to visit the weapons shop owner first, and help him expand his stock by venturing out of town?
Or will you try to hustle for coin to get the cash you need for better more fashionable armor?
Or maybe you will help the woman who is searching for her long-lost family heirloom?
The choice is yours! There are several adventures to find and discover, in this living, breathing marketplace village!
FEATURES:
- 12+ characters to interact with throughout your adventure
- Voice acting for each character, done by me! :) Dozens of lines of dialog!
- Special background music (The King's Feast, by One Wave) to give you a true sense of adventure as you explore the market
- Each door within the market takes you somewhere unique, each with its own secrets to discover! Maybe you'll find the village church, the village library, or enter someone's home?
- The village gates take you to the vast overworld outside the market. Explore the wide-open countryside!
- You begin the game by spawning into the market, instead of the Home map. the Market village is your new Home base.
- Explore, battle, and help your fellow villagers in any order and any way you choose
- 2 - 3 hours worth of adventurous quests to complete and enjoy! Your progress is saved each step of the way.
- Gain the ability to fast travel throughout your adventure, to teleport to the distant reaches of the kingdom for further exploration and intrigue!
YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO:
- Not use the menu book to teleport to locations - allow yourself to naturally find them in your quests
- Not use the Portable Books mod, so you can naturally find items in question throughout your adventure
EXTRA CHALLENGES FOR COMPLETIONISTS:
- Can you find the ancient Ruins, long lost to time?
- Can you find the war sword hidden away in the market?
- Can you find the torch, owned by one of the villagers?
- Can you gain the protection of the divine offered by the church?
- Can you gain the trust of the woman who lost her family treasure?
- Can you become a champion of the village arena?
- Can you gain the ability to magically travel throughout the kingdom?
- [Extra Hard] Can you find the legendary Ashbringer sword?
MOD REQUIREMENTS:
- Quest Framework - the life-s blood of this whole adventure
- Armour Swap - for the functioning apparel shop
- Kevatron's Frozen Throne map - for one of the destinations in one of the quests
KNOWN ISSUES/BUGS:
- This mod may be quite demanding on performance, as it spawns 10+ NPCs into the world simultaneously. Because of this, expect some occasional framerate drops depending on your graphics card, CPU, or RAM specs.
- When exiting a house, you spawn back to the start of Market, instead of at the door you just exited. I have not yet figured out how to do custom spawn points in existing maps
- If you attack/kill a villager, they will continue talking to you like nothing happened. It's kind of hilarious, and done by design, so you don't ever permanently lose access to people, quests, or interactions
- Since the overworld outside of the market has mostly no Navmesh, I had limited options on where I would spawn enemies. However, I found some good spots and hope you enjoy embarking into the wide world for some of your Quests!
- In my troubleshooting of the adventure, any waves that are triggered seem to trigger a large amount of NPCs, instead of the max of 3. Not sure what's causing it on my end, but it may potentially happen. If it does, it can also cause some framerate slowdowns.
SPECIAL THANKS:
- A HUGE thank you to HuJohner for being so amazing, responsive and helpful when I was starting out using this mod, and asking my questions on what was possible.
- THANK YOU to Neeshka for helping me to troubleshoot the audio/background music for the quest. Thanks to you, it makes the adventure feel one step closer to a Skyrim vibe!
- Thank you to the Mod-discussion channel in the B&S Discord, incl. Old Man Llyrum and Silk for helping answer my questions as they ame along.
Hope you enjoy and I'm open to your ideas on what to include next! Once you begin travelling, there are not as many quests available. What quests should the player embark on in the new locations? Feel free to let me know!
