Thanks for adding death on over-consumption. I have an alcoholic friend who said he wanted to go drink himself to death and I was able to say why not try it in VR first. I love VR for its many applications and stuff like this mod really makes me appreciate the modding community. Thanks Kaji and Hawkloon
Once the SDK gets released, we should be able to use wine in progression mode. We should be able to ferment and make our own wine that we can sell to The Baron. 1 dungeon run would represent 1 day. I also want to learn how to make my own wine so I think that'd be cool. Finding grapes in dungeons and yeast could be cool as well or just wine in dungeons since wine is widely considered a commodity if you wanted to expand this framework even more.
I can't really think of what that would do for gameplay, it might be nice for people who film in Blade and Sorcery but for players I just can't see what it would do. Alcohol on the other hand has some pretty profound effects on gameplay.
Making this mod wasn't just about the memes, although I do like that people find it funny, it was about the challenge of making it and making it fun. Originally when it was just a visual effect it was still fun because it was nauseating, but now it actually changes the way you have to fight to a degree. If I could think of a smokable item that would be as good, I'd make it, but I can't. Maybe DMT.
an effect of smoking could be increasing your mana but decreasing health everytime you smoke, depending on the chemical could also send you into slow motion. a neat concept would be a laced smokeable (weed or tobacco) where when inhaled can do various things depending on rng such as hallucinations, screen changing colors, or fading in and out of black. just ideas. ultimately i just wanna be able to place a cigarette in my mouth and kill some dudes
I've got a few suggestions for lore friendly liquor ideas for you.
Ale: A liquor made by fermenting barley that was popular all over medieval/Renaissance Europe, which Eraden is obviously modeled after.
Mead: A liquor made by fermenting honey that was enjoyed across the world & history, even though in the modern day it's typically only associated with the Viking Age Norsemen. Considering the beehives on the player island, this one makes perfect sense.
Kombucha: A liquor made by fermenting tea leaves; popular wherever tea grew naturally; would probably be imported to Eraden from Byeths India esque country.
Sake: A Japanese wine like liquor made by fermenting rice instead of grape juice; would probably come to Eraden from Byeths Japan esque country.
I think that I would rather not add new alcohols but instead add new effects to it and treat this mod as more of a framework than an addition, even though it does have a few items.
Others can make whatever specific beverages they want.

Alcohol framework will be eventually added to a larger mod and released that way, but will probably not be updated as a standalone mod.
