Is this still the way to do it in current version? May 2023..
I haven't upgraded since U8 because the soundpack mod stopped being supported after that and I had a TON of different characters that I'd made. I wish I could update them to the current game.
This is a good mod tutorial, and very easy to follow. but I am having a huge issue where the fifth voice does not function properly. I have made two voice packs following the tutorial exactly. (one of which I have uploaded to Nexus though it does not work properly)
Both voice packs I made function perfectly fine, except the voice in either the Commoner or CommonoerAccented does not work at all, and instead goes to the default voice. This is not an issue with my naming, since i switched two names around, renamed the files, double checked the spelling, and even remade the entire json by copying the text from another. None of these fixed the issue. The other voices still worked but the one in that folder refuses to. (This was a clean download of both the sdk and your modpack both times)
It says that it has loaded the voice properly on both mods, but clearly has not.
At first I thought it was an issue with how the commoner folder was read by unity... The folder itself should not be addressable, right?
After switching two of the voices around in Unity I had no luck- however, switching the order in the Creature_HumanMale.json yielded good results but only at the cost of the other voice! I think it is an issue with that particular .Json
Edit: Adding a fake voice on the end of the list in Creature_HumanMale.json allows all five voices to play however it will still play the default voice sometimes, though rarely
Hey, thanks for the guide and all, but any chance for a more thorough explanation around the middle point? I am having a really tough time there and beyond.
I am working on a pack that makes npc's say: Bruh when they spot you, attack you or hear you, do the wilhelm scream when they fall, make the Roblox death sound when they get hurt, go DO'H when they die, and most of all, Go DO'H 30ish times when they die slowly.
