Are you sure that you downloaded the Modular Firearms Framework? Nexus says you only got the Modular Rifle, but you need both, or at least the Firearms Framework. Neither of the mods will work without it
-grab magazine -throw magazine away -take new magazine -make sure that new magazine has bullets in it -put new magazine in gun -grab charging handle at the rear of the gun -pull charging handle -release charging handle

an hour ago installing manually fixed it for someone
if you did install manually, message me on discord so we can figure it out
-throw magazine away
-take new magazine
-make sure that new magazine has bullets in it
-put new magazine in gun
-grab charging handle at the rear of the gun
-pull charging handle
-release charging handle
