This mod introduces several Naginatas, Japanese polearms with a bladed tips. This formidable weapons were used by samurai across several historic periods and were considered iconic weapons of onna-bugeisha, a type of female warriors belonging to the Japanese nobility. The following weapons are included in this pack:
- Kamakura Naginata, one of the earlier variations of naginata made during Kamakura period. Such naginatas were heavier and longer than their later counterparts
- Onaginata, a long naginata for battlefield use.
- Naginata, a versatile mid-sized polearm favoured by practitioners of naginata-jutsu.
- Ko-naginata, a shorter naginata more suitable for use in enclosed spaces.
Installation:
1) Unzip and copy NaginataPack folder into BladeAndSorcery_Data\StreamingAssets\ folder in the Blade
& Sorcery installation folder.
2) Load the game, all naginatas will be available to spawn in the "spears" section of the Weapon Book.
Weapon info:
Naginata, being a polearm, provides reach advantage which can only be matched by other polearms and largest of swords. On top of that, naginata's sword-like tip allows for a broad variety of attacks, including spear-like stabbing, large sweeping attacks as well as quick cuts and chops. Pole itself can also be dangerous as it can be used for crippling joint or face attacks as well as leg sweeps. Naginata can be reasonably effective up close if necessary by gripping it close to its tsuba(circular guard). It can also be thrown as a javelin, if necessary. While its curved blade is not well suited for this, such attack can be useful in a pinch.
