My discord server is dedicated to my Blade & Sorcery mods and acts as a simple place to talk about my mods and related subjects, see what I'm working on and get notified about major updates and releases. There are occasional beta versions of mods for testing as well. https://discord.gg/AndDphhNVh
One of the most common confusions about this mod is how to draw the katana from its sheath. It takes some practice to get used to it and can be uncomfortable at first, but this graphic represents how to draw a katana. In short, your fingers point upwards when grabbing the handle of a katana. Katana are mounted with the blade facing up, but don't be confused with longer swords such as the tachi, which are mounted with the blade facing down. Depending on which one you are drawing you will have to change your hand position when you withdraw from the sheath.
This is authentic to the katana, but if you don't like to worry about orientation, just equip the katana without the sheath.
Are all weapons in this pack meant to have a sheath? most of the smaller weapons are spawning without a sheath for me and I'm not sure if that's meant to be the case
I like these but I'd like a version without the sheath'. I kept pulling either the sword out wrong or the whole thing from my side so while in a dungeon I got a little irritated with it and threw the sheath on the ground and continued with the sword alone as it went on my back/side and came off properly so I thought cool I'd just do that but the sheath is the main part apparently as when I got back home the sword was gone altogether unless I spawned it again from the book.
+1 Please fix this, all sheath weapons are still marked as stolen and the sheath itself will produce another katana if stored in the home inventory. I tried to buy just the katana and not the sheath but it isnt marked as a shop item so it can't be purchased.
I would also like to add that the Nagamaki cannot be worn on the back only the hips which is somewhat jarring given it's length. I assume that isn't intended?
The sheath is the parent object I think which is also what you purchase in the store (it has the pricetag). When you remove the sword from the sheath and then hover over the holstered sheath and blade, you'll notice the sheath says 'owned' whereas the sword says 'stolen'. The same is true for the vanilla throwing daggers.
Unfortunately I can't think of an easy way to fix this. It may require scripting. For now you will have to carry the sheath with you unfortunately. I could possibly make an alternate version of the mod with no sheaths in the future.
So the weapons arent spawning at Barons Shop. I have the mod installed they work in sandbox just fine, I have tested other mods and same problem nothing spawns at Barons Shop. I've down more than 10 dungeons and 5 dalgarian ruins and still no weapons. I've also uninstalled the mod played the game reinstalled the mod played the game and still no fix. Any ideas on why?
The only thing I can think of is you have some kind of mod messing with the shop itself. You also need to refresh the shop by doing a couple dungeons each time you test it I think, but you should only need to run two at most. Maybe try a new game or straight up delete your saves.
Would you be willing to consider implementing vanilla-style weapon performance progression for mid to high tier katanas? The T4, legendary katanas all have these cool descriptions and a way higher price tag, but are still functionally similar to the basic katanas. They don't even have better imbue like other vanilla high-tiers.
Just having like 1-5% better handling, easier dismemberment or imbue would go a long way to making them stand out more as higher-quality swords.
They use the same tier scaling as vanilla weapons. They should have a longer imbue retention, slightly higher damage and better dismembering ability. But even in vanilla the difference between T3 and T4 isn't that huge. If there was a separate mod that made T4 weapons better, it would work on KMP as well.

The snapping into the sheath looks so bad... Please take this into consideration
