Maybe you are already working on this but waves with npcs using these properly would be incredible. Great work on this mod so far and I can't wait to see what will happen next
One of the best mods for a ranged weapon thus far. The blaster effects on impact are giving me flashbacks to Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, and the muzzle velocity seems to be about right (maybe a tad bit slow, but if the scripting ever allows for blaster bolts to be deflected by a lightsaber, any faster would be simply insane).
Now onto a couple nitpicks.
1.) The blaster is too big. Not a huge bit too big, but enough for me to notice. It's most obvious if you look at the trigger and grip when holding the weapon or look at yourself while carrying the weapon in a mirror. The sterling SMG, on which the E-11 is based is only 48.1 cm long with the stock folded.
2.) The scope lacks a sight. Not a huge deal considering no one should be trying to snipe with an E-11, but it's something. Bonus points if you get the scope to have some sort of infrared overlay or something later down the line.
3.) Some versions of the E-11 have what looks almost like a second magazine or battery behind the power pack. It's not on the model you made but it's on almost every one of the movie props and replicas.
Hi Stellarmagic, thanks for your comments and insight.
1. I made it this size as it felt comfortable to use. I'll look into resizing it to actual scale again and see how it feels to use. Ultimately when I have more weapons done a smaller, accurate, E-11 should fit in fine with the rest. For reference, here is the E-11 scaled up against an accurate Obi Wan lightsaber, the current E-11, and a 43.8cm folder stock E-11. https://i.vgy.me/MRiVwg.png
2. I've been thinking about adding sights to the gun and will likely do so in future.
3. The model I am using has been ported from Battlefront 2 and I do not intend on modifying it at this time.
Great update, seems much more accurate to the film now that it's been resized. Is there anyway you can change the stun setting so that it's selected by the same way we switch between semi-automatic and fully-automatic mode? Just make it a third option?
I did that but it felt awkward gameplay wise cycling through the firemodes to get to it. I know it's actually a firemode on the gun but it makes for inconvenient gameplay if you try to quickly swap between stun and shoot.
Can we get more and more weapons from star wars? maybe clone weapons? maybe entire models of storm troopers/rebels so we can have actual waves? maybe maps (if custom maps are still a thing) either way, great job! I love it!
So first of all, the installation was easy as F. And it works with the Oculus version! The mod is good and fun and all, Thanks mate! I must have three things to say: -When I hold it with both hands it's quite difficult to rotate it, almost impossible... With one hand it works perfectly. -My "playthrougt?" ended more like me slaping everyone with the blaster because it's funny as hell and they just fall like bugs. I felt like in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHZvUeAdzeI -I don't know if you are palnning on adding something like a overheating mecanism but it could be cool
Thanks! 1. When you hold it with both hands it uses the left/right hand forwards control mechanism built into the game (I can't control that). So essentially only one hand will be 'steering' the gun at a time. Try two handing it left handed and right handed and you'll see what I mean. 2. I love that video. 3. Yep, that's on my todo on the description. I will add ammo capacity (around 500 rounds) with automatic reloading and also overheating (if you shoot for extended periods of time, maybe 200 shots in a row?).
