This is great hands down new favorite mod. The only thind I wish it had was the ability to hold weapons, especially pilums in reverse grip. Oh and maybe a dagger
Nice thanks. Sadly idk why the handle orientations aren't working properly as I have them set up for you to hold in all kind of directions, once the updated SDK is released I believe that issue will resolved. There's a dagger already waiting for you called Ashur. It's just not in the custom categories you'll find it with the other daggers.
Dustin off the ol unity engine and seeing what U11 is about. An update for this is going to be the Guinee pig so you can expect it within a few days if all goes well.
Really? Can't begin to think of reason why. Feel free to send me the error code that comes up on your screen when pressing F8 so I can see what's causing it.
Nice work, but I gotta say, the swords and shields are cartoonishly big... the models are really nice and detailed too but is there any chance of them being a little more life like in scale? These swords are meant to be short, stabby weapons as used and demonstrated by the Roman infantry, very similar to the standard short sword in vanilla. Otherwise, good work, keep it up xD
The long term goal for me is to include both Gladiator & Roman weapons / armors (with waves). Historically, The Roman Gladius blade was around 30 inches in length so I plan on keeping that accurate when I start working on the Roman soldier end of this. I intentionally made the gladiator swords bigger for multiple reasons, main one being that I'd rather start off big and scale down than vise versa. As for the shields I made them big as hell because we don't have to worry about weight like they did and since its player vs AI groups for the most part I prefer to have the shield protect my left or right side as much as possible. That all being said I appreciate your feedback and will absolutely work on sizing these bad boys accordingly as I continue to work on it. I'm always open for suggestion and welcome criticism. so feel free to include anything else, Thanks again!.
I use them two handed now, lol... thank you for the feedback, as I said I love the passion and effort you put in, you modders keep the scene alive and its greatly appreciated - I certainly can't do it. Peace xD
As a roman history amateur, I love your work maybe the fantasy side a bit less but that's like taste and colors everybody has a different opinion about it.
Thanks I appreciate it! With U8 now out i'm going to try my best finding a good balance between both of the "Blade" and "Sorcery" aspects with my mods.
I also think they are far too big, though I am not unappreciateive of your efforts. The roman gladius's full length was around 30inches, including the handle... and those were the largest, latest Spartha versions which are slightestly different shaped. The Hispania and Mainz shapes which you have modelled you Roman Gladius's on were much shorter with blade lengths of 18inches, max (on average from fingertip to elbow as the classical measurement went). That saying, love the passion, keep up the good work xD
Love the designs! but im having an issue with the swords where they wont stab effectivly, like they penetrate 1/5 of the attemps, do you know what causes this? im 100% positive im stabbing with enough force, as it works fine with any other sword
Hey thanks, I plan on pushing out an update soon and will absolutely take the stabbing into considering and check out what might be causing your issue. Thanks for the heads up!
amateur modder here. These weapons are delicious, but they show up about 2-3 times bigger than theyre supposed to be. How do i fix this? the shields are as big as a doghouse and the swords are about the size of a 2x4.
hahah well the shields and swords are designed to be bigger (especially the shields) since the gladiators were massive (not really). All of the swords aside from Spartacus' were scaled according to my frame. As far as the modding goes there is no way you can actually scale them unless you made them from scratch yourself. Out of curiosity, are they bigger in game than what I have in my pictures on your end ?
i positioned them the same way you did in the screenshot on the rack, and theyre the same size. I suppose it's a preference thing then! nothing wrong with them, i guess they just feel awkward in my VR hands. which is odd considering im not a small dude, but no worries...we all have preferences. great work! i love gladiator weapons especially for use in the arena map..maybe the devs could add in lions or minotaurs........................maybe a lynol.............
Ahh yooo lions and animals in general would be pretty damn epic. One day....maybe.... lolol and hey if you haven't already, try out the better sword handling mod, might make all of the weapons flow better. I'm still tweaking out some things on my older mods and plan to make more from the ancient roman/greek era so i'll definitely take scaling into consideration more after this. Appreciate your feedback!
Well i like the "weight" feel to the weapons. Makes for a feeling of power when you finally get that perfect swing.....so satisfying to chop limbs with that perfect swing.......dont call the cops..... anyway, if i havent endorsed your mod, i will.. thanks for the tips!
