If it's not a massive pain, would it be possible to add another set of gestures that equip spells to a staff? Basically, one-handed gestures while holding the staff in certain orientations.
Hi thank you for your suggestion! I'll keep it in mind for a future mod, but for now I'm moving on to investigating a new spell skill tree for a water element spell!
For now, I'd say the best way to do quick equips with the staff is to set up your most used staff spells as quick swipes with your free hand. I find that works well for me, because I also love using staves.
I use imbuesharpen on mod.io to get a similar effect. You just need the spell you want in the hand with the weapon, press alt Use, and swipe your off-hand over it. It allows you to use a different spell in your other hand. It works with weapons other than staffs, too.
This reminds me a lot of spectral armory, which is my favorite mod in B&S. As a future request or just a suggestion, using this but with the same or similar aspects of spectral armory (now out of date) would be awesome for 1.0. Thanks for this awesome mod!
Thank you for the suggestion! I also miss Spectral Armory and hope it comes back!
To give you a similar experience now, you can download the RandomWeapon spell and assign it to your gesture(s) of choice to spawn a weapon upon completing a gesture, which I've found feels quite similar to Spectral Armory. My favorite gesture to use is hand held to the side, palm down. Which makes me feel epic to materialize weapons like that. Let me know what you think!
Yeah the telekinesis issue is a known issue listed in the mod description. I'll see what I can do but no guarantees. In the meantime, you can perform gestures away from the front of your face, or with palms facing backward, so as not to activate telekinesis. You can also deactivate the T3 Mind skill Marionette to make the gestures smoother around NPCs.
I'm happy to report that this mod now has an "Alternate Use Mode" that utilizes the alt-use/spell wheel button instead of the grip to perform gestures, if desired! This mode also deactivates the spell wheel menu. This mode should eliminate any issues with telekinesis.
Mainly because I'd rather add a function than replace a vanilla game function. I know it's possible to eliminate the spell wheel, but I think that would also cause issues with people who still want it as an option, so I made the design choice for grip over spell wheel button.
What if it was an option in the settings? Or would that not work? After all, there are mods that allow you to disable and enable the spell wheel at will. For example Yamato. Even if not, it's still pretty much the mod I have always wanted. Amazing job

This is wonderful! Would very much enjoy an option to "deselect" spells with a gesture to seamlessly change between spells and hand-equipped tools like grapple hook (also activates with grip and trigger) if possible <3 outside of that, perfect!
I'm not planning on adding in a deselect at this time, because I figure quickly tapping the spell wheel button is a perfectly acceptable way to deselect spells presently within the vanilla game.
Absolutely. Although I do think it could help with immersion, I mean people don't need to use it. But it could be a nice features for those who want it. Either way, great mod!
I am happy to report that the new update now allows for a spell unequip function! This option is only available for the downward swipe motion at this time. Hope you enjoy!

A Must have mod. Love it.
The alt-use made it perfect, and surprisingly un-janky.

I'll try the quick swipes. Haven't quite got down most of the gestures yet.
