Weapons get stuck in walls on occasion - Addressed in upcoming update
AI navigation is funky - Addressed in upcoming update
I can see unloaded parts of the map from certain angles - Will try and tweak this to be less noticable, but some sacrifices have to be made to make this map possible performance-wise.
Hi there! Sorry to hear you are having issues with the mod. Considering that multiple playtesters and all the people here have not run into/reported this issue, it sounds like you may have an issue with your install. A couple things that could lead to this:
- The mod is disabled: Check your in-game mod menu when you launch the game and ensure Eraden Post is enabled. - Another mod is conflicting with this mod: This can be tricky to diagnose, but if you figure it out let me know so I can collaborate with the developer to fix it. - The mod was not properly installed: Ensure that you extracted the folder from the downloaded zip into the mods folder. If you are using Vortex to install this, try a manual install instead.
Some things to note: - This map is PCVR only. - Pirated copies of the game are known to not work with some mods.
If all-else fails, one thing you can try to get into the map is pressing F5 while in B&S to open the tools window and load the level manually. If you don't see the level in the dropdown it is very likely a bad install.
Hey. I myself am not a modder but i think i have some tricks you can use: For better wall breaking, try setting a certain hitbox that makes the walls break with a certain amount of impact. You don't want your weapon to get lodged in there, but you also don't want to be able to break an entire wall with just a single slash from a katana or knife for example. it just wouldn't make sense.
The reason weapons are getting stuck is because Unity does not allow for backface collisions on mesh colliders. For the walls, any of the faces that are "inside" the walls are considered backfaces. When a weapon hits one of these walls from the backface side, the physics engine freaks out trying to figure out what is going on, usually resulting in it throwing your weapon deeper into the wall.
This is a pretty nasty issue that is going to require a pretty nasty solution. Shady and I have a couple solutions but we haven't had the time to fully test them yet
As for things like slashes being able to/not to break walls, we plan on implementing in-game settings that allow the user to tweak the destruction to their liking : )
Could you possibly add an option to make the walls more fragile? I feel like it takes to much effort to break the walls when tossing people around. Other than that, the map is really good quality.
Custom wall settings is something we've always planned but the feature had to get pushed to the next update as I was in a time-crunch to get this out before leaving on a lengthy vacation. Soon though, soon!
One of the best maps that's come out in a long while, honestly. Feels like it could fit right in the base game. Only feedback I have is i wish the interior of the house was a little brighter, but GOD this map is good
first impression. lovely map, my only wish is that there was a night version. i find the walls to be quite hard to destroy, for example the sledge hammer at the start to break down the planks, took quite a lot of effort for some planks. ill update this if i encounter any bugs.
atmosphere is a 10/10 lighting is a 10/10 map layout 10/10
i feel like a spawn book by the beach or one that spawns enemies around the house. i know the point of the map is test the destrucion, but the outside is perfect
I’ve heard a lot of feedback about the difficulty with damaging walls. Next update we’ll tune things to make it easier. Hopefully we can also add some mod options that allow you to tweak it to your preferences.
For the main arena, there are two sets of wavebooks. One for outdoor spawns and one for indoor spawns. Seems like a couple people might be missing them so I’ll make them more noticeable.
